Dear Yale Traveler
For Yale alumni, the journey of learning and cross-cultural interaction
doesn't end at graduation. I'm so thrilled to invite you to join
fellow Yale alumni on an itinerary specially designed by our very own
Buenos Aires native, Yale Prof. Moira Fradinger, who also received her
PhD in Comparative Literature at Yale. Prof. Fradinger is excited to show
you the Buenos Aires she knows; away from the madding crowd, where
the city's pulse beats to the salsa rhythm of the workweek. She has
pooled her knowledge with local travel experts to show you incomparable
cultural experiences, comprehensive excursions and preferred access
to popular attractions.
This exclusive behind-the-scenes program combines the security, ease
and value of group travel with opportunities for independent exploration.
Enjoy the camaraderie of traveling with a group of like-minded
people and, during your free time, feel the thrill of making your own
discoveries!
An experienced Travel Director will take care of every detail during your
journey, and a dedicated travel staff is committed to ensuring your trip
creates many fond memories. Best of all, expert guides will lead you on
engrossing excursions that offer an in-depth look at the local culture and
history, and Prof. Fradinger will be there to show you her passion for
Buenos Aires, as well as provide fascinating context for your adventures.
Space on this unforgettable journey is limited to 35 travelers, and the
trip is sure to sell out quickly, so make your reservations today!
Sincerely yours,
The Argentine Tango
If you can walk, you can tango. The dance is based
not off a step pattern, but off the improvised
movements of the leader. Even a stroll across the
room, when done in the tango embrace, is a performance
of the dance. Many beginners start with
the eight-step cortado, but there are countless
variations on this basic pattern.
The tango was born along the banks of the Río
de la Plata, in the barrios of Buenos Aires and
Montevideo, and no trip to Argentina would be
complete without a tango experience. See a private
demonstration and a public show on days three
and seven of your trip.
