<strong>AP</strong> <strong>Biology</strong> <strong>Summer</strong> <strong>Assignment</strong><br />

Due Date: Friday, August 30, <strong>2013</strong>.<br />

***No late assignments will be accepted.<br />

Directions:<br />

1). Please obtain the textbook for the class, <strong>Biology</strong>, Ninth Edition, by Campbell and<br />

Reece.<br />

2). All Short Essays and Chapter Questions must be typed.<br />

(Should be double-spaced, Times New Roman, and Font Size 12).<br />

3). All Short Essays, Chapter Questions, and Worksheets should be put in a<br />

folder with your name clearly written on the outside, and ready to be turned in<br />

on Friday, August 30.<br />

4). Please demonstrate academic honesty on this and all of your assignments.<br />

Copying or cheating will earn you a “zero.” If you work with another student<br />

on this assignment, make sure that your wording is different.<br />

5). You will have a test on Chapters 1 and Chapters 52-56 the second week of<br />

school.<br />

**Short Essays: Worth Twenty Points Each. (All together One Test Grade)<br />

**Chapter Questions: Worth a Quiz Grade.<br />

<strong>Assignment</strong> 1: Worksheets<br />

**Read Chapters 1 and Chapters 52-56 in <strong>Biology</strong>. As you are reading the chapters,<br />

complete the Worksheets for each section. Make sure all answers are complete, a<br />

the question is fully answered. It would be a good idea to make detailed<br />

descriptions of all bold faced words in the chapters on Index cards. These will<br />

help you study for Tests and to review for the <strong>AP</strong> Exam.<br />

**As you are reading the chapters, it would be a good idea to take some notes on the<br />

main concepts and ideas. This will prepare you for the test on the chapters the<br />

second week of school.
