Lyss, November 2005
”And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all
sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:8
Welcome
to the first edition of “Vetter’s Letter”! We’re happy that you are a part of it and share in our lives. All
readers of the past “News from Timo” can rejoice in the future about news from the now extended Vetter
family. If you are part of our new readers we hope that this letter will give you some insight into what is
going on in our lives and what is important to us.
Wedding
Well, lot has happened in the last 5 months but the most outstanding happening was definitely our
wedding. Together we celebrated a wonderful 3 rd of September with lots of sunshine, good friends, a great
variety of food (from ice cream & pizza and diverse buffets to barbecue and tasty desserts), wonderful
contributions to the program (from Hip-Hop and Alphorn blowing to the Terminator) and of course with the
most beautiful bride and the most happy bridegroom between the north and south poles. God gave us so
much grace: we enjoyed this day so much and couldn’t wish for a better start to our marriage. It was also
so nice to come back to our own apartment right after the wedding. Timo moved into the apartment in
August already and both of us tried to get and arrange the furniture beforehand as much as possible.
Three days later we flew to our honeymoon, which we spent in the best weather in Greece on the island of
Rhodes. After everything that was going on before and in the light of everything that was going to happen
right after our vacation, we were so happy to have 12 days just for us to relax and be treated in the best
possible way. We could write lots, but pictures speak more than a thousand words. Therefore on the
following pages we have put together some Impressions. If you are interested in more you can find more
pictures at: www.sue-timo.ch.vu. We still rejoice over everyone who leaves a note in our guestbook.
DTS
The day after we returned from our honeymoon the
training for the Basic Leadership School (BLS) started.
Monika, who is leading the school together with Timo,
did a really good job in preparing and organizing the
school (and also our wedding) and in October, 12 women
and 9 men came (from Albania, Finland, Germany,
Nigeria, Romania, the USA and Switzerland) to Wiler.
You can see them on the picture at the right.
It was wonderful that Sue was able to join class in the
first two weeks. This year God put together a very
creative class and so every Friday we enjoy half an
hour in which our students express our mission’s values
through drama, music, song writing, dance, baking,
video production and lots more. As a class we regularly
spend time before God and try to react to what He is speaking to us. We were able to experience many
things in the first eight weeks and we are excited to see what will be added in the different outreaches.
After Christmas we will send out teams to Madagascar, Botswana, France and North Africa. Lydia and our
two wonderful BLS students are going to lead them.
What is Sue doing?
For both of us it is quite a challenge to enter our first year of marriage with all the other responsibilities
that we have. Sue travels daily around four hours between our apartment in Lyss and the Gymnastics
diploma school in Basel. She’s now in her third and last year of training to become a movement pedagogue
and she is working on her exam paper. Besides that she’s doing a weekly internship in a Physiotherapy-
Practice and gives Hip-Hop lessons on a voluntary basis for teenage girls in the church here in Lyss. She is
also actively involved in the ministry team of the Vineyard church in Bern and as a gift advisor supports
gift oriented servanthood in the church. So we need to carefully use our time and strength. Especially now
we experience the truth of the above scripture and realize that God can give lots of grace for everything.

Studies
I (Timo) finished my first course of church history well. By
now I have done the IGW-introductory course and I
joined a study day about “creation & evolution”. It wasn’t
too easy to give two precious weekends for that but it
was really worth it. Now all the material of these courses
and lots of study books are lying together with the second
church history course on my desk and wait for the new
year to be worked on. Throughout the DTS I didn’t find
time to study, but next year I plan to spend a greater
amount of time for my studies. One of the advantages of
a correspondence course is that you can adjust your
speed to the time available. Another factor that
determines my speed is the study fee. A normal course
that I get three credits for costs 420 CHF! To finish with a
BA I need at least 96 Credits. I would be so happy if you would like to sponsor my studies – with one, two
or three credits. You could answer this Email or pay the money to the account named below.
Finances
For those of you who might not know it, I (Sue) would like to share that Timo is not getting a fixed salary.
His financial support comes from friends, family and former students who value his work in YWAM and
who want to set him free to do that. Worldwide, all YWAM staff finance themselves in that way. Besides
that, people agreed to pray regularly for him and his work. So far Timo had to live alone from this circle of
supporters but now his budget got enlarged not only by his studies but also by another person living with
him. I myself am in training and as a student I am not paid a salary either but I have to pay a monthly
study fee. My parents support me for now but we would be so grateful for some more supporters in the
future so we could continue to walk on as a couple.
Everyday life as a couple…
“I hate housework! One makes the beds, does the dishes – and six months later it all starts again.” Well,
we’re happily not doing like in this quote from Joan Rivers. Our apartment looks reasonable tidy and you
are welcome to check it out by visiting us. It’s actually quite interesting which elements make an
apartment look “masculine” (symmetrical shelves, IKEA spots, etc.) or “feminine” (asymmetrical shelves,
floor lamps, lots of fabric…). Besides that, we rejoice that finally someone is there to solve computer
problems and drill holes into the wall or write “Thank you” cards and remember appointments. We are so
thankful for the completion or supplement that the other one is. So I would like to end with a quote from
proverbs: “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD.” (Prov 18:22)
Thank you for your friendship!
