PART ONE
HOME – SCHOOL AGREEMENT
The student:
I will listen carefully to both the students and staff;
I will wear school uniform, be on time and bring the right equipment to lessons;
I will behave in a safe and sensible way and follow instructions;
I will respect students and staff, allowing them to learn;
I will always try my best, make sure I know how to make the next steps in
learning;
I will use my Student Planner properly and read all the pages within it;
I will attempt all the homework set and hand it in on time;
I will do my best to meet the Mangotsfield School expectations;

PART TWO:
The Parent/Carer will:-
‣ See that my child goes to school regularly, is on time, goes to all lessons, is properly
equipped and wears the correct school uniform;
‣ Let the school know about any concerns or problems which may affect my child’s
work or behaviour;
‣ Support Mangotsfield School’s policies, particularly Family Holidays and Guidelines
on behaviour, including detentions;
‣ Support my child in homework by providing a quiet place for him/her to complete it
and encouraging other opportunities for home learning;
‣ Attend Parents’ Evenings, Academic Reviews and other evening meetings which
support my child’s learning;
‣ Take an interest in the work my child is doing in school;
‣ Read and sign the Student Planner every week and use it as the main
communication tool between home and school;
‣ Make sure my child is using the Student Planner effectively in their learning;
‣ Read the white pages at the start of the Student Planner, particularly the ‘Code of
Conduct’, attendance and School Uniform and ensure that my child keeps these
rules;
‣ Take an interest in the work of the PTA;
‣ Encourage my child to become as involved as possible in the life of the school e.g.
Music, Sport, Drama.

PART THREE
The School will:-
‣ Encourage every student to learn to the best of their ability by following the
school’s Vision Statement of ‘Mangotsfield Motivates’;
‣ Recognise and encourage positive effort and good work through the Rewards
system;
‣ Provide a broad and balanced curriculum, together with a range of out-of-school
activities and visits;
‣ Mentor students to monitor their progress;
‣ Contact parents or carers if there is a problem with attendance, punctuality,
equipment or any other concern from the white pages at the front of the Student
Planner;
‣ Let parents or carers know about any concerns or problems that affect their
child’s work or behaviour;
‣ Send home regular assessments, reports and general information about their
child’s progress;
‣ Care for every student’s safety, treat him or her with respect and value every
student’s contribution to the school community;
‣ Set, mark and monitor homework and provide facilities for students to do
homework in and after school hours;
‣ Arrange Parents’ Evenings during which progress will be discussed;
‣ Keep Parents/Carers informed about school activities through Newsletters and
notices about special events;
‣ See parents/carers at a mutually convenient time to discuss their child’s
education.
