Branch Chairman Richard Brooks cuts the cake accompanied by Com<br />
Founded in 1971, <strong>CAMRA</strong>, the Campaign for Real<br />
Ale, reached its <strong>40th</strong> anniversary this year and the<br />
<strong>Bristol</strong> & <strong>District</strong> branch held a party to celebrate<br />
this milestone at the Commercial Rooms, Corn Street,<br />
<strong>Bristol</strong> on Thursday 30 June.<br />
Our thanks go to Helen Bull and her team at the<br />
Commercial Rooms who really pulled out all the stops<br />
to help make this a great event. As well as a buffet and<br />
some raffle prizes they went the extra mile on the beer and<br />
ensured that a range of 12 guest real ales was maintained<br />
throughout the busy evening. This went down very well<br />
with the <strong>CAMRA</strong> members present and resulted in the<br />
Commercial Rooms setting a new record of selling 1,002<br />
pints of real ale in a single day. The Commercial Rooms<br />
is now offering a discount of 50p on a pint of real ale on<br />
production of a current <strong>CAMRA</strong> membership card.<br />
