It is recommended the Board approve the Alternative Education Agreement from the County of<br />
Northampton in the amount of $125,000 for the <strong><strong>20</strong>11</strong>-<strong>20</strong>12 school year.<br />
9. Approval – Reappointment of Assistant Executive Director<br />
It is recommended the Board approve the reappointment of Dr. Mary Beth Bianco as Assistant Executive<br />
Director of the <strong>Colonial</strong> IU <strong>20</strong> for a new four-year term beginning November 10, <strong>20</strong>12 and ending<br />
November 9, <strong>20</strong>16 subject to a compensation agreement to be approved by the Board.<br />
10. Approval – New Class/Position<br />
a. Associate Teacher (1:1) effective October 31, <strong><strong>20</strong>11</strong> and will continue until student moves or no<br />
longer needs service. The PMSD has requested the <strong>Intermediate</strong> <strong>Unit</strong> provide an Associate Teacher<br />
to meet the needs of an individual student – Life Skills Support, Pocono Elementary Center, PMSD.<br />
Budget Amendment is attached.<br />

b. Assistant Director of Program Development (Level III) effective <strong>December</strong> 15, <strong><strong>20</strong>11</strong> – this will be a<br />
one-year position which is currently funded and then subject to continuation of grant funding for<br />
the following 4 years. The <strong>Colonial</strong> <strong>Intermediate</strong> <strong>Unit</strong> <strong>20</strong> has been selected as the PA eastern<br />
regional manager of a federal Striving Readers grant. This grant is referred to as the Keystones to<br />
Opportunity Grant in Pennsylvania. The grant focuses on an aligned integrated comprehensive plan<br />
serving the birth through 12 th grade population and stakeholders. This supervisory position is<br />
essential to provide the appropriate oversight of this grant and its goals – Curriculum – CIU<strong>20</strong><br />
Office.<br />
11. Approval – Trailer Conveyance (Seton Academy)<br />
It is recommended the Board approve the conveyance of the NPSS Remedial Program Trailer located at<br />
Seton Academy, 623 6 th Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18018 (VIN #E<strong>20</strong>19566), to Henry Pump, 458 LeFevre
