Creighton claimed a share of its first regular-season MVC title since 2001-02, overcoming
a three-game deficit in the final six games to tie Northern Iowa ... Creighton’s 27
wins were second-most in school history and helped the team to a 12th straight postseason
as well as 11th consecutive 20-win season ... Creighton went 9-0 in December
and later had a stretch of 11 straight wins from Jan. 27 to March 6 ... the latter streak
was extended to 11 when Booker Woodfox’s buzzer-beater stunned Wichita State in
the MVC Tournament, 63-62 ... Woodfox would be named Larry Bird MVC Player of the
Year and finished second nationally by making 47.6 percent of his three-point attempts
... Woodfox was a First-Team All-MVC pick while P’Allen Stinnett was a Second-Team
choice ... Kenny Lawson Jr. and Josh Dotzler were both named to the MVC’s All-Defensive
Team ... Creighton set all-time MVC records with 302,676 home fans and 15,930 fans per
home game ... the season ended with a tough 65-63 NIT loss against Kentucky.

Defining Moment: Creighton overcame a first-half 14-point deficit with a strong
second half. The Jays took their first lead of the second half with 4:44 left on a
Booker Woodfox three-point basket, and the lead for good on a Justin Carter
trifecta with 1:46 left. BGSU’s Darryl Clements missed a trey as time expired that
could have won it.
Key Stat: Creighton shot 63.6 percent in the second half while holding Bowling
Green to 1-of-8 three-point shooting after intermission.

Defining Moment: Jodie Meeks’ three-point play with 10.6 seconds left gave
Kentucky its largest lead of the game. A potential game-winning three-pointer
by Creighton’s Booker Woodfox was off the mark and Meeks grabbed the rebound
as time expired.
Key Stat: Kentucky’s trip to Omaha marked the first visit by an SEC team to
Omaha since 1940.
