Nantyglo Roundhouse Towers<br />

Nantyglo Roundhouse Towers has potential as a heritage centre and educational<br />

resource for local people and an attraction for visitors. The <strong>Council</strong> will work closely<br />

with the owners of the property in order to develop the site.<br />

Cwmtillery Lakes<br />

Cwmtillery Lakes provides an educational and recreational resource for the local<br />

community and is used for walking, bird watching and fishing. A new community-led<br />

project, called CALON, is seeking to establish an Outdoor Gateway and Education<br />

Centre at the Jim Owen Pavilion as a base for locals and visitors to utilise the<br />

significant potential for outdoor activities within the surrounding countryside of<br />

Cwmtillery. The proposed Calon Centre will also serve as a community centre<br />

offering venue hire, light refreshments and tourism information.<br />

L1 Formal Leisure Facilities<br />

Land is allocated for leisure at:<br />

Chartist Way, Tredegar<br />

The Policy allocates land required by Leisure Services for the provision of outdoor<br />

recreational facilities at the above named site.<br />

An area of land is allocated for informal play space at Chartist Way, Tredegar with a<br />

kick-about area planned adjacent to an existing play area.<br />
