Brendan Hanson
Brendan Hanson brings his own particular charm to our Morning
Melodies programme with a selection of fabulous well-known songs
from stage and screen, highlighting the exciting and often amusing
moments of his career in Australia and overseas.
Brendan is known to Perth audiences from his work in Les
Miserables, Singin in the Rain, Company and Annie Get Your Gun,
as well as his appearances with the WA Opera Company. He was
recently seen as a contestant on Channel Ten’s outrageous triple
threat reality programme, I Will Survive...Priscilla Queen of the
Desert, and proves with aplomb why survive when you can thrive?
fiesta
danza viva spanish dance company
Thrill to the sights and sounds of the Danza Viva Spanish Dance
Company as staccato flamenco footwork, the swish and swirl
of gorgeous Spanish skirts, flashing smiles and exciting Iberian
choreography take you on a colourful dance journey. It’s not only
flamenco, though. Danza Viva’s repertoire also includes very rarely
seen, utterly fascinating, intriguingly costumed dances from other
regions of Spain. Much of the program is choreographed by Danza
Viva founder and director Deanna Blacher but there are also a
number of dances choreographed by talented members of the cast.
This is just the sort of entertainment to get the toes tapping and the
pulse racing!
TUESDAY 18 june – 11am
guys and dames
From the creators of last year’s hit Cole Porter tribute You’ve Got
That Thing comes Guys and Dames, a delightfully entertaining
concert that bends gender and upends convention.
A guy singing I Feel Pretty from West Side Story? A dame singing
Music Of The Night – or maybe even Working Class Man?
Taking classic songs from musical theatre and timeless hits from the
radio, there’s only one rule in Guys and Dames – all songs must be
performed by a member of the opposite sex!
