Salary Range: Staring salary based on experience, qualification, and budget.
(100 % time – 40 hours a week)
Position Purpose:
The Associate Medical Director assists the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in providing quality oversight of
clinical programs and care provided at JWCH Medical Clinics. The position collaborates with the CMO as
described in the established protocol. The Associate is also responsible for the direct patient care of
assigned caseload of patients.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Supervises physician specialists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners at the JWCH Medical
Clinic (Center for Community Health), JWCH Medical Clinic (PATH), JWCH Medical Clinic
(Covenant House), and outreach sites including performance evaluations, proctoring and peer review.
2. Will lead the efforts to increase the HMO, Medi-Cal, and Commercial enrollment at the JWCH
Medical Clinics.
3. Provides medical care to primary care patients.
4. Provides consultation to the physicians, physician assistants, nurses and clinical staff.
5. Consults with chief medical officer regarding issues with work performance of physicians, physician
assistants, nurse practitioners and nurses.
6. Consults training or assist in training of medical students, interns, residents, nurse practitioners and
other related health professionals.
7. Consults with other providers and para-medical personnel regarding medical management of patients
and quality of medical and diagnostic work performed.
8. Confers on the planning and direction of the primary care team as it relates to the physician’s
specialty.
9. Participates in medical and services utilization audits, peer review and quality assurance activities.
10. Assist CMO with the development, reviews, and/or revision of clinical protocols, policies, and
chronic disease management guidelines.
11. Will assist in the implementation of diabetes, Asthma and other chronic disease management
activities at the JWCH Medical Clinics consistent with the BPHC Collaborative.
12. Assist CMO with the implementation and oversight of Primary Care activities at the JWCH Medical
Clinics as assigned.
13. Assists with the planning and implementation of the CPSP Program at JWCH Medical Clinics (if
applicable).
14. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Exempt
June 24, 2011
1. Current California Physician & Surgeon License.
2. Current DEA Certificate.
3. Current CPR Certification.
4. Two 2 years of management experience.
5. Ability to travel from site to site as needed.
6. Experience in working with clients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural
background.
7. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
