One of the most important and
expensive customisations you can
do to your ride is a good paint job.
But it is often hard to imagine what a
particular colour will look like or if your
car would look better with a graphic
or two. House of Kolor’s Digital Paint
Booth has taken the guess work out
of creating the design you want. This
software allows you to paint your car
digitally on your computer screen. The
possibilities are endless as you control
the graphic colour, position, size, and
rotation. If that’s not enough you can
use the draw tool and create what
ever you can dream up! Using this
software you can make sure that you
will be getting the design you want.
Let the computer screen be your spray
gun and masking tape! Now, you can
view that car or bike you have been
dreaming about finished, before you
even prime or sand it.
PAINT: The easiest customisation you can create
on your vehicle is to change the colour. A variety
of House of Kolor paints have been provided.
Once you have loaded the software on to your
hard drive, the first step to getting started is
choosing a colour for your vehicle.
DRAWING: This software not only allows you to
add pre-selected graphics to your vehicle, you
can also create your own graphic designs. By
using the draw section, you can create a brand
new design or add to graphics already on the
vehicle. You can decide which brush size you
need and whether you want to draw on top of
other graphics or underneath them. In addition,
you can turn your hand drawn graphics on and
off by using the show and hide buttons.
GRAPHICS: Once you have chosen the basic
colour for your vehicle, graphics can be added.
This software enables you to preview complex
paint designs with multiple layers of graphics.
These graphics include flames, two tones,
pinstripes, and other miscellaneous graphics.
Once a graphic has been selected you can
manipulate the size, rotation, and position of the
graphic to create a limitless number of custom
paint designs.
PRINT: Once you have created on screen the
paint design you want, you can print it out. This
feature not only allows you to show your friends
but it also includes all the House of Kolor paints
and other material that are needed to produce
your design.

BEFORE YOU PAINT…
Planning is the key to a show-quality paint job. You’ve got to think about each component, how you’re going to lay
down each coat, how the colours will work together, and always check the technical guidelines! When you stick with the
House of Kolor ® kustom paint system, we do most of the work for you, so the application goes smoothly and the quality
lasts for the long term. Here’s all the basics you need to know:
• Use our heavy-duty, kustom grade epoxy primers! You’re entering the world of high-build kustom painting, and even the
best refinish primer can’t stand up to the challenge. House of Kolor ® primers are the foundation of a high-build kustom
paint job. If you’ve already primed the surface with something else, sand it off and re-prime it with House of Kolor ® .
When all is said and done, you’ll be glad you did. By the way, our primers are direct to metal, plastics and fibreglass
- for all custom painting applications.

• For maximum adhesion between primer and basecoat, use the House of Kolor coloured sealers (Ko-Seal ® II)! These
rugged products not only add years to your paint job, but they give you three colour options to reduce the amount of
basecoat required for coverage. Use the white, black, or metallic silver sealer, or tint the metallic silver or white with
kandy koncentrate to approximate any basecoat.

• Use House of Kolor topcoat clears – properly! House of Kolor ® uses special solvents in our products – solvents that bite
deep into the surrounding coats. Only House of Kolor ® premium urethane clearcoats allow those solvents to bite into
them, whereas competitors’ clears do not achieve the adhesion with our solvents and will flake off (delaminate) quickly.
Our UC35 and new UCC01 products provide a harder finish to provide stability and protection over the thicker colour
coats. Our UFC35 and UFC19 product provide the maximum flow-out and user friendliness. For a flat (or matte) finish,
try our new UMC35 Kos-Matte Klear!

WHY USE KUSTOM PRIMERS & SEALERS
The primer is the foundation of any custom
paint job. Because of the unique chemistry of
our epoxies, our primers offer:
• Direct to metal, plastics, and fibreglass.
• Extreme flexibility that allows the finish
to expand and contract when the metal is
heated or cooled, and will not crack even
when seriously dented.
• Tenacious adhesion that resists chipping from
rock bruising or door dings.
• Fills up to 24 P grit scratches and offers
outstanding sandability.
• Complete blockage of body filler bleedthrough
at 2 mils of film build.
• Very high film build and easy sanding to
improve productivity.
In custom painting, sealers will save you time
and money, and should never be considered
OPTIONAL! They perform four critical functions:
• Improve the adhesion between the substrate
and the basecoat.
• Greatly improve the colour holdout of your
finish.
• Tinitable to reduce the amount of base
needed to achieve full coverage.
• Prevent solvent absorption into the primer.
KWIKURE 2-PART EPOXY PRIMER/SURFACER (KP2CF- PARTS A& B)
• Designed to work over properly prepared bare aluminium, fibreglass, galvanized steel,
OEM finishes and some woods and plastics.
• 2 coats cover 24 P grit scratches; 70% solid high build primer that remains extremely flexible.
• The easiest to sand prime available, wet or dry.
• Body filler can be applied under or over primer.
DIRECT TO METAL PRIMER (KD2000 & KDA2000)
• Low VOC Direct to Metal Epoxy.

organic pigment. Mainly used as ground coats, but can be applied also as a topcoat for those
looking for a powerful burst of solid colour. Available in 12 unique basecoat colours to satisfy
your creative needs!

Designer Pearls come in the widest palette on the market - over 40 pearl colours in the

other Shimrin’s including the Neons, Graphic Kolors BC & FBC Metallic Basecoats and Kandy
Basecoats to create a truly one-of-a-kind custom finish. Simple to apply with premium
results achieved when Designer Pearls are applied over a white or tinted basecoat to
create an intense pearl effect. Pearl mica pigments are extremely finely ground to create
an optimal smooth finish. This also offers excellent usage for airbrushers due to a low film
build.

Kandy Basecoats (KBC SERIES)
‘Outstanding colour at every stage of your project!’
This is a specially developed basecoat that mimics the ever popular Kandy finish. Easy to use
with a low film build, makes this basecoat suitable for street riders, especially being touch
up friendly. Available in the same great 20 colours as Urethane Kandys to produce limitless
variations of colour combinations.
• Feature fast coverage, high pigmentation and low solids.
• Application is reasonably simple and able to be touched up if required.

Glamour & Fine Metallic (BC & FBC SERIES)

Shimrin Metallic colour bases have a captivatingly rich colour. Versatile in that they can

vibrant metallic finish. From this metallic platform colour possibilities become endless, as
Shimrin Metallic Bases may be intermixed with other Shimrins including the Neons, Graphic

Shimrin Neons are designed for hard-hitting high visual impact. Perfect for highlights on race
cars, boats and signage where eye-catching intensity is craved. We recommend clearcoating
with our HOK Urethane clear which contains much more UV absorbers than other standard
clears – thus reducing possible sun fade.
• Shimrin Neons have a limited colour fastness in the direct sun, so an overall project in
Neon is not recommended.

aluminium effect can be applied to create a real metal finish – even on wood or plastic!
Ideal for detailing of interior parts and available in 5 metal colour effects.
• Finished Kosmic Krome surfaces must be clearcoated – with either urethane

Kosmic Acrylic Urethane Klear (UC35)
• May be used to topcoat any Urethane enamel finish, including all Shimrin Basecoats.
• Dries fast and may be colour sanded and buffed the next day.
• Our preferred clear for first coat before flow coating.
• Preferred clear for motorcycles due to high acrylic content enabling faster cure time and
better resistance to fuel spills.
Kosmic Urethane Flo-Klear (UFC35)

INTERCOAT CLEARS
Intercoat Clear (SG100)
• Custom painters’ best friend.
• Designed as a protective immediate clearcoat for artwork.

Intercoat Pearl & Flake Karrier (SG150)
• Basecoat clear that is designed to be used as a
karrier for Pearls, Flakes, as well as other dry
products offered in HOK range.
• Greatly reduces the settling of Pearls and Flakes
after the products are mixed.
• Encapsulates the Pearl & Flake particles, so when
sprayed the particles are self orientated & locked
into place – reducing blotching & streaking in the
finish.

Our specially developed Pearl concentrates are available in dry form. Add to any of HOK
acrylic lacquers or urethane enamels, Intercoat Clear, Intercoat Pearl or Flake Karrier to morph
your project into a truly hybrid creation.
Kosmic Pearl (KDP SERIES)
Kosmic Pearls are our newest pearl line that features increased reflectivity, brightness and
sparkle. Kosmic Pearls feature high intensity making them a great choice to use over light or
dark bases. Try adding Kosmic Pearl in dry form to your clear finish for a dramatic effect.

Kameleon Opal (KOP SERIES)
Kameleon Opals represent some of the latest advancements in pearlescent and

Kameleon Pearl (KPF SERIES)
Kameleon Pearls are at the edge of technological advances, offering unique colour changing
pigments. Kameleon will actually change colour depending on what angle it is viewed. Rounded,
curved surfaces & sharp angles will be highlighted by this unique formulation. Supplied in dry
form, they can be added to a selection of HOK Clears & Karriers.
Ice Pearl (IC SERIES)
Ice Pearls surpass all traditional pearls for brightness of colour,
transparency and reflectivity. This lies in the glass flake pigment
technology that is further accentuated in sunny conditions. Furthermore,
blending Ice Pearl pigments will give a truly multi-colour effect – showing
each of the colours combined in the pearl. Ice Pearl may be used in
conjunction with any of our Shimrin Universal Bases, Kandys, Klears,
Marblizers or Kustom Bases.
Kosmic Long-Glo (KLG SERIES)
‘Fun with the lights off’
Kosmic Long-Glo is a glow in the dark powder additive that can be mixed
into any base or Klear. For exceptional results it is recommended that Long-
Glo is applied over a white base. Kosmic Long-Glo is fantastic for use in
airbrushing & detailing – to add another dimension to your project at night.
As with all glow in the dark products, Kosmic Long-Glo has a limited colour
fastness in the direct sun, so an overall project is not recommended.
• Use for small parts, graphics for a one-off cool look!
• Carrier for smaller flakes and pearls.

‘A galaxy of sparkle to inspire you’
Unlike the majority of flakes on the market that claim to be easy to spray – ours really are!
Ultra thin polyester makes HOK Flakes the lightest and easy to use. We have a generous
variety of colours – even Kameleon Colour Shift Flakes. HOK Flakes are available in 5 flake
sizes to create any look or finish. A great retro look can be created using a chunky flake over
a contrasting Kandy Basecoat for real head-turning appeal. Or for a subtle shimmer of flake –
try Translucent Flakes that allow more of your basecoat to shine through the flake particle.
• Flakes can be added to any of the HOK SG Karriers and Klears.
Striping and Lettering
Striping & Lettering Enamel (U SERIES)
‘For a truly unique custom job’
Designed for striping, lettering & airbrush artwork. The high
pigment concentration means you can complete most strokes
with one pass – single application! Low film build for minimal
edging. For a unique retro or rat rod look – this is perfect to
transform your project into a one-off. Available in 36 accent
colours to highlight your project.
• Apply over existing finishes or topcoat with clear for a
smooth durable finish.
• Can be catalysed when topcoat clear isn’t required.

SPECIALTY PRoducts
ADHERETO ® (AP01)
AP01 is designed to use when topcoating Polypropylene, TPO (Thermoplastic Polypropylene),
Polypropylene/ elastomer blends, other plastics, aluminium, steel, brass and other metals. Adhereto ®
creates a bond etween a substrate and a coating, or between a dried coating and a fresh (wet) one.
This product is also useful when sanding situations are difficult. Adhereto ® is easy to use and dries in
minutes. Ready to spray right out of the can (no reduction required). Product is clear in colour.
ACCELERATOR (AX01)
Accelerator (AX01) was designed for catalyzed acrylic urethanes and specific polyurethanes to speed up cure time. Use Accelerator to
speed dry time in cool shops on parts that must be handled (or sanded for art layouts) or re-coated the same day. Accelerator can be
added to any of the following Kosmic Kolor ® products: SBS10, UC35, UFC19 and UFC35 Klears; UB and UFB Solid Colours; and UK
Kandys.
HI-HEAT BLACK (HH04)
Hi-Heat Black is a fast-covering, great-looking, semi-gloss jet black finish that will endure 760°C (1400°F) without flaking or
discolouration. It is a great coating for engine parts or exhaust systems on cars, trucks, motorcycles, small engines, etc. where high

FLATTENING AGENT (FA01)
Flattening Agent reduces the gloss of our polyurethane enamel topcoats and Klears.
Flattening Agent will not affect adhesion or hardness. It is great for under carriages,
frames and engine parts where you need a tough, durable finish and low gloss.
Kosmic Konvertor (KV1)
• Converts all House of Kolor basecoats to 3.5 lbs. VOC or less.
• Improves pearl and metallic control.
• Allows you to use your pre-existing materials and equipment.
Kosmic Kandy Karrier (UC25)
• Designed for use as an effective carrier for our Kandy Koncentrates.
• Medium solid binder with the same application properties
as our Urethane Kandys.
• Excellent clarity, weathering, and ultraviolet resistance.

KUSTOM CATALYST, REDUCERS & THINNERS
CATALYST (KU100)
This product is for use only in our UK Kandys, UB & UFB products. Due to its unique
chemistry, KU100 should never be substituted with other brand catalysts.
EXEMPT CATALYST (KU150)
This product is for use only In our Ko-Seal ® II, UC & UFC Klears. Due to its unique
chemistry, KU150 should never be substituted with other brand catalysts.
FLOW EXEMPT CATALYST (KU151)
This product must be pre-mixed with other products before use. KU151 is a multipurpose
catalyst for urethane finishes, designed for high temperatures, humid conditions,
and improves the flow.
REDUCERS (RU310 - RU313 & RU300 VOC EXEMPT)
Our Kosmic Reducers - RU310 Fast Dry, RU311 Medium Dry, RU312 Slow Dry, RU313
Very Slow Dry and RU300 VOC exempt (Fast to Medium) - are the only reducers we
recommend for use with our House of Kolor ® System.
THINNERS (RU101 & RU202)
Our Kustom Thinners RU101 Hi-Gloss and RU202 Fast Dry are the finest thinners you
can buy at any price. The thinner carries the paint to the surface, then evaporates
from the paint film, thus how the thinner evaporates will determine the flow, tack free
time, consistency, shrinkage, leveling, dry time, tape time and final gloss. A subtle but
valuable part of the system!
RETARDER (RU315)
Designed for the Kosmic Kolor ® Urethane system to retard dry time in situations where
this is deemed necessary, such as force drying. May be added to faster reducers to
slow their dry time in emergency situations.
KRATOR ELIMINATOR (KE170)
An additive that corrects fisheye or crater defects. Works with lacquer, urethane,
polyurethane, acrylic urethane, acrylic enamel, and other polymer coatings. A must
have product for your paint shop.
CAUTION: May not correct major silicone contamination.
