CHILDCARE<br />

<strong>2012</strong>-2013 SCHOOL YEAR<br />

(Ages 3-5) Our full and half-time childcare program<br />

provides a safe, healthy learning environment with<br />

age appropriate activities to promote the physical,<br />

social and intellectual growth of children. Healthy<br />

breakfasts and snacks are provided. Full-time<br />

hours are 7:00A to 6:15P. Call the community<br />

center closest to you for more information and<br />

availability.<br />

PRESCHOOL<br />

<strong>2012</strong>-13 SCHOOL YEAR<br />

Our state-licensed, nine-month preschool program<br />

follows the <strong>Loudoun</strong> <strong>County</strong> public school calendar.<br />

Classes are offered for 2½-5 year olds, but vary by<br />

location. Currently enrolled families received registration<br />

priority and a lottery was held for remaining<br />

spaces. Registration is open until filled for any additional<br />

remaining spaces. A $45 non-refundable<br />

registration fee will be required prior to entering<br />

the program. The Virginia Department of Social<br />

Services requires proof of current immunizations,<br />

proof of age and a childcare application form. Our<br />

program follows Creative Curriculum Approach to<br />

Learning.<br />

<strong>2012</strong>-13 SCHOOL YEAR<br />

(Ages 5-7) Kindergarteners are offered a variety<br />

of activities within a safe, supervised, structured<br />

environment. The Virginia Department of Social<br />

Services requires proof of current physical & immunizations,<br />

proof of age and a childcare application<br />

form. A $45 registration fee is payable at time of<br />

registration.<br />

2021-2013 BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM<br />

Little River Elementary ONLY<br />

The program operates from 6:30A until school<br />

starts and follows the <strong>Loudoun</strong> <strong>County</strong> Public<br />

School calendar. Note: PM Kindergarten parents<br />

will have to find alternate care before the start of<br />

PM Kindergarten. Please refer to registration procedures<br />

listed below.<br />

<strong>2012</strong>-2013 COUNTY AFTER SCHOOL<br />

ACTIVITIES (CASA) PROGRAM<br />

This year we are excited to shift directions with<br />

our program and enter a new territory. As we seek<br />

to provide recreational opportunities for the next<br />

generation of creative thinkers - we will focus on<br />

“thinking outside the box”. Our creative and talented<br />

staff has spent countless hours developing a<br />

new system that will challenge your child to grow<br />

and learn in a positive environment. The activity<br />

schedule also includes homework and snack time.<br />

CASA follows the <strong>Loudoun</strong> <strong>County</strong> Public School<br />

calendar. Visit www.loudoun.gov/prcs/camps for<br />

programs when LCPS is closed. CASA locations<br />

open when school ends and close at 6:00 p.m.,<br />

with the exception of Lovettsville Community<br />

Center, Hutchison Farm, Little River, Arcola, and<br />

Pinebrook, which close at 6:15 p.m.<br />

AM Kindergarten parents need to find alternate<br />

care until the end of the regular school day.<br />

<strong>2012</strong>-2013 REGISTRATION: BEFORE SCHOOL<br />

& CASA<br />

Registration is open until filled. Refer to registration<br />

procedures below.<br />

OPEN REGISTRATION begins March 20 for any<br />

remaining CASA slots on a first-come, first-served<br />

basis. Registration must be done in person at the<br />

PRCS administrative office in Leesburg. Office<br />

hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday- Friday.<br />

Please refer to the registration procedures listed<br />

below.<br />

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES<br />

Registration must be done in person and requires<br />

the following:<br />

• A Children’s Program Division Registration form<br />

and addendum. Both forms can be downloaded<br />

at www.loudoun.gov/casa or obtained at the<br />

PRCS administrative office.<br />

• Current identity verification for each child.<br />
