Junior Ball
Promises Great Times
and Great Music
Get ready for a fun-filled night of great times,
good friends and terrific music. On Saturday, Nov.
7, Junior Ball Chairmen Heather and Eli Flint and
Junior Committee Co-Chairmen Miller Jackson
and Kirk Martin will host “Back to the Future,”
the annual Junior Ball held in conjunction with
The Legendary Party, Shepherd Center’s black-tie
gala. While The Legendary Party will celebrate the
historical dream of Jules Verne, the Junior Ball will
party to his visions of time and space travel in a
modern set-up.
Not only is this a great party on its own, but
the Junior Ball gives our younger crowd a chance
to sample The Legendary Party and let these two
groups of Shepherd supporters mingle and have a
great time for a great cause.
This year’s bash will be at The Ritz-Carlton,
Buckhead and will feature a terrific Atlanta party
band, League of Decency, in the Plaza Ballroom.
Guests will also party into the late night hours to
DJ-led karaoke in the Reform Club.
The party starts at 10 p.m. and ends at 2 a.m.
with late-night buffets featuring The Ritz-
Carlton’s famous waffle bar and a hosted bar.
Tickets are $75 per person and include all festivities.

Legendary Party to
Dazzle and Amaze
Much as Jules Verne’s classic character Phileas Fogg embarked on
an 80-day journey filled with intrigue and excitement, the guests
of The Legendary Party 2009 will experience a wondrous adventure
filled with fun and glamour – and perhaps the unexpected.
“Around the World in 80 Days, The Legend of Jules Verne”
promises to be the most imaginative and thrilling gala yet.
Chairman Cyndae Arrendale and her dear friend and
Chairman-elect, Dororthy Mitchell-Leef, M.D., have been
working hard with The Legendary Committee to plan a truly
amazing event to celebrate the vision and accomplishments of
Jules Verne and Shepherd Center.
“Since Shepherd has seen patients from all 50 states and 44
countries, what better theme for The Legendary Party than
‘Around the World in 80 Days’?” Cyndae says. She is also delighted
the ball will celebrate the devotion and accomplishment
of long-time Shepherd Center supporter Jane Woodruff, who
serves as honorary chairman.
On Nov. 7, Tony Conway’s A Legendary Event will transform
the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead into a real-life adventure. Guests
will explore the cultures of the Victorian world while they dine
on scrumptious food and dance the night away to Doc Scantlin’s
Imperial Palms Orchestra. The late-night entertainment will
feature DJ-led karaoke. Festivities begin with cocktails at 7 p.m.
and dancing and carousing will continue until 2 a.m.
