worldwide transportation of project cargoes for the break-bulk cargoes and heavy lift
shipping industry. With a specialized knowledge in windmill project cargo transportation,
SESL manages and operates a modern fleet of sophisticated vessels, complemented by a
team of experienced and committed shipping professionals, who serve as reliable and
competent partners in catering to our customer’s requirements.
SESL is looking to recruit a Chartering Executive in our Oceania branch office in Sydney.
This is to fill a position fallen vacant due to an internal promotion. We offer exciting and
challenging opportunities in a growing niche market and need the right individual who is
self-motivated and career-driven to join us.
Primary Responsibilities
Cargo booking for owned / operated vessels;
Assess enquiries, maintaining competitive tariffs and issuing competitive rates for
project / heavy / bulk cargoes;
Maintain efficient space utilisation of vessels;
Networking for market trends and intelligence;
Identify and develop company network, vis-a-vis brokers, ship owners and cargo
principals;
Well-versed and responsible for charter parties / booking notes and understand
their legal implications;
Development of strategic relationships and partnerships / company branding;
Develop business case studies;
Study and develop market trends;
Customer relationship management;
Pre- and post-fixture of vessels being handled including but not limited to
operational control of vessels as needed;
Liaison with SESL Operations in Singapore to ensure all documentation is
complete and freight billed and followed up;
Execute stowage of cargoes, appointment of Port Captains, agents, stevedores,
etc. as needed to facilitate and support vessels;

Requirements
MUST HAVE AN AUSTRALIAN PASSPORT OR AUSTRALIAN PR (please do not apply
if you do not fit this criteria).
Well-versed with chartering, preferably in Project / Heavy Lift sector.
Experience in liner trades an asset.
Self-driven, ambitious and result-oriented individual.
Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
Professional with a proven track record in working with project and heavy lift
cargoes.
Organized and has attention to detail.
Flexibility to work on weekends and after hours if required in the normal course of
work.
