Membership Booklet

The Egyptian Institute of Directors (EIoD) was established
in 2003 as the first institute focusing on corporate
governance in the Arab region. It aims at spreading
awareness and improving good corporate governance
practices in Egypt, the Middle East, and North Africa
(MENA region). The activities of the EIoD are targeted
at directors, key executives, shareholders, and other
stakeholders.
The EIoD offers a variety of services for the business community in Egypt and
the region, including:
• Awareness Conferences and Seminars;
• Training Courses;
• Corporate Governance Consultancy;
• Research and Publications.
The Institute is a membership organization and offers its membership to different types of
members such as founding members, sponsors, corporate, and individual members that
are interested in implementing and improving corporate governance practices in Egypt and
the MENA region. It further extends its membership and services to non-Egyptians who
are attracted by the Egyptian market and/or would like to benefit from the leading role the
institute has undisputedly taken in governance and business practices.

The Egyptian Corporate Responsibility Center (ECRC)
was founded under the umbrella of the EIoD, according to
an agreement between the Ministry of Investment and the
United Nations Development Program. It works on offering
Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) business solutions
as well as acting as a key focal point for the United Nations
Global Compact within Egypt. With an increasing demand
from stakeholders, investors and businessmen to facilitate
and elevate the serious dilemmas and barriers related to
business practices that not only discourage innovation and
entrepreneurship but extend to hurdle the establishment
of responsible businesses and sustainable CSR practices;
ECRC provides the core fundamental support to empower
businesses to become responsible through building successful CSR strategies, which create
fulfilling inclusive impacts for businesses and communities.

Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) – AUC
The Institute of Banking and Finance began its operations in 1982 with few banking and
finance programs that were part of the activities undertaken by the management of the
Institute. And it is considered one of the leading educational and professional training
institutes that implements training and educational programs covering several disciplines.
The institute’s scope of work covers Egypt as well as the Arab region.
IBF will offer the members of the EIoD a scholarship of 10% on all courses it
provides.

In 1900 - is one of the oldest insurance companies in Egypt
and the Arab region. It is an affiliate of the Insurance Holding
Company, established in accordance with the presidential
decree no. 246 in 2006. The company’s capital is 750 million
