Gasification
Two stage process:
1. Gasification: fuel is
converted to syngas
2. Combustion: syngas is
burned producing clean, hot
flue gas.
Heat is transferred from flue
gas to water, thermal oil or air
in HX . Cooled flue gas is
exhausted trough the stack.

Fuels
• Sawmill wood waste e.g.
hog fuel, shavings
• Agricultural byproducts
• Construction, demolition
wood (hogged)
• Compost and RDF
• Tree top trimmings
Advantages
• Low emission. No cyclones, baghouses, ESP
• Higher heat transfer efficiency. Low ash deposit
• High moisture fuel processed without opacity
• Small footprint, outdoor location
• Price comparable to conventional systems.
• Processing high ash content fuel
• Fast response to heat demand, high turndown.
• Unsupervised operation
Applications
• Boilers (new or retrofit)
• Greenhouse heating
• Veneer dryers, rotary dryers
• Rotary and lumber kilns
• Wood processing plants using
their own waste wood for
energy generation
• CHP systems
• Pellets production- direct
drying of wood chips
