<strong>10</strong> th <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Deja</strong> Vu Celebration – “Rock <strong>of</strong> Ages”<br />

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – On Saturday, October 6, <strong>Big</strong> <strong>Brothers</strong> <strong>Big</strong> <strong>Sisters</strong> will host its<br />

<strong>10</strong>th annual Déjà Vu Ball – ROCK <strong>of</strong> AGES at the Bahia Mar Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale.<br />

Déjà Vu is <strong>Big</strong> <strong>Brothers</strong> <strong>Big</strong> <strong>Sisters</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Broward</strong> <strong>County</strong>’s largest annual fundraiser and is a retro,<br />

costumed, all-night party that celebrates the four decades <strong>of</strong> mentoring success in <strong>Broward</strong><br />

<strong>County</strong>. This blast from the past consistently makes the list <strong>of</strong> Top Ten Charitable Benefits in<br />

BizBash Magazine.<br />

Guests will experience a vibrant display <strong>of</strong> sights and sounds reminiscent <strong>of</strong> the iconic music and<br />

images from the 60’s to the 1980’s and celebrating our past. The night will include live<br />

entertainment from Sixth Star Entertainment & Marketing, cocktails, a silent auction, dinner and<br />

dancing from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.<br />

The 2012 child advocate honorees are;<br />

Visionary Corporation <strong>of</strong> the Year – JM Family Enterprises<br />

Community Child Advocate <strong>of</strong> the Year – Susan Renneisen – Hard Rock Hotel<br />

Community Hero – Katrina Wright – Bank <strong>of</strong> America<br />

Throughout the night, the honorees will be celebrated for their personal motivation, desire and<br />

action in giving back to the youth <strong>of</strong> South Florida. Each honoree is presented with a customframed<br />

gold record to commemorate the millions <strong>of</strong> smiles they have brought to children across<br />

<strong>Broward</strong> <strong>County</strong>.<br />

Déjà Vu is a one-<strong>of</strong>-a-kind event, and all proceeds from the evening will directly benefit the<br />

children served by <strong>Big</strong> <strong>Brothers</strong> <strong>Big</strong> <strong>Sisters</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Broward</strong> <strong>County</strong>. With a fundraising goal <strong>of</strong><br />

$250,000, Déjà Vu aims to positively impact the lives <strong>of</strong> 300 children by providing them a caring<br />

adult mentor to <strong>of</strong>fer friendship and guidance. Helping to ensure the direct return <strong>of</strong> sponsorship<br />

dollars to supporting our children, Sixth Star Entertainment will underwrite <strong>10</strong>0 percent <strong>of</strong> the<br />

entertainment, décor and production costs, making this event one <strong>of</strong> the most cost effective<br />

charitable benefits in South Florida.

the community. Studies show that adults mentored as children through <strong>Big</strong> <strong>Brothers</strong> <strong>Big</strong> <strong>Sisters</strong><br />

are more likely to earn a four-year college degree, take part in strong personal relationships and<br />
