Hi to all New Zealand Naturists,
Your newsletter this quarter is going to
be a bit different to usual. As I haven’t
received any contributions from
members, especially overseas
adventures, Glenne and I will just have
to go out and do it ourselves. We are
departing New Zealand late August and
returning early October on a ‘strictly
research’ trip of naturist venues. We will
be overlanding from Cairns to Darwin
then onto Thailand via a short stop in
Singapore. Being members of the
Thailand Naturist Association we will be
attending the first birthday celebrations
of Chan Resort (a naturist resort near
Bangkok).

THE WORLD:

10. boBRENE on Tambourine, Australia
A resort with great amenities in a remote
location near the Gold Coast of Queensland,
boBRENE is a clothes-free vacation in a natural
environment. There’s a pool, a spa and a tennis
court. During the night, activities include open
log fires for barbecue, dancing and karaoke.

9. Sun Eden Naturist Resort, South Africa
Clothing is not optional here; you must take it
off. The resort is located on a 35-hectare
bushveld farm in northwest Gauteng about an
hour’s drive from Johannesburg.
Guests can book a comfortable cottage, or they
can camp. Either way, accommodation is in a
natural environment in Africa, where activities
include swimming in the pool, or bird watching.
8. Chan Resort, Thailand
Chan is a family-run and very modern resort
with air conditioning (a must in Thailand), cable
television and complimentary WiFi. Nudist
sundecks allow guests to achieve a perfect tan,
while a beautiful swimming pool is situated
among fragrant flowers. In the evenings, there
is a nearby Thai restaurant, or guests can cook
in their rooms.
7. Vera Playa, Spain
Spain’s most famous naturist beach, Vera Playa
is on Spain’s southeastern coast, where the
weather is almost always temperate. With more
than a mile of beach, this area is not a private
resort but a public ‘zone’ that caters to nudists
– even on the streets. There is a luxury hotel
for naturists here, so visitors will be among
plenty of like-minded people.
6. Vritomartis Hotels and Bungalows,
Greece
At Vritomartis, guests will feel like an ancient
Greek god in a gorgeous island setting.
Vritomartis, located in south-eastern Crete, is
named after a Minoan goddess. Nudism is only
allowed in the outdoor areas and is required on
the beach and by the pool.
The resort has 85 rooms, all with airconditioning,
telephone, television, refrigerator,
and internet. A restaurant is also available with
breakfast and dinner buffets and guests have
access to tennis and volleyball courts.

5. eWaterways Naturist Cruise, Croatia
The ship island hops along the Croatian
coastline for seven nights, offering plenty of
time for meeting new people, tanning and
swimming in the warm Adriatic Sea. Of course,
clothing is required at the ship’s ports of call,
but otherwise it’s all nude, all the time.
The ships are small and only accommodate 20-
40 guests. Breakfasts and lunches are served
on the ship, while dinners are at local
restaurants.
4. Sea Mountain Resort, California, USA
Sea Mountain Resort is a naturist spa, with a
natural mineral water whirlpool, surrounded by
mountains and just a 90-minute drive from Los
Angeles. Sea Mountain is also famous for its
couples massages and for its 24-hour night club
with nude and lingerie dancing. In other words,
this is definitely not a quiet retreat for purist
naturalists. However, with its great spa
amenities, it is one of the most luxurious nudist
destinations. Naturism is not mandatory and the
resort is clothing optional.
3. Hidden Beach Resort, Mexico
Hidden Beach Resort, on the Mayan Riviera, is
one of the most luxurious nudist destinations in
the world. Hidden Beach is for adults only and is
clothing-optional. Nudism is strongly
encouraged, though, even at meals
Guests are greeted upon arrival with a glass of
champagne and stay in one of 42 beachfront
suites overlooking the Caribbean Sea, complete
with a private two-person Jacuzzi. The resort is
gated and surrounded by walls within a
mangrove jungle perfect for a relaxing vacation.

2. Hedonism II, Jamaica
Hedonism II in Negril is considered to be the
best of the Hedonism resorts, all of which are
located in Jamaica. While the resort can feel a
bit dated, what it lacks in luxury, it more than
makes up for in its party atmosphere.
Obviously, this resort isn’t for everyone, but
many uninhibited travellers go back year after
year to let go and act outrageous. In that
respect, it can be a real fantasy vacation.
1. Cap d’Agde, France
The ultimate nudist destination, bar none, has
to be Cap d’Agde. A city many call ‘the world
capital of nudism’. Why is it so special? It’s a
town with a village inhabited by and devoted to
naturists. Residents can do their shopping
naked, their banking naked, and just about
anything else naked. However, most of the
residents do dress for dinner. Even though it is
a ‘naked city’, nudity is optional everywhere
except the beach, where nudity is mandatory.
During the summer months, more than 40,000
nudists converge on the city, so be prepared for
a throng of naked bodies.

SOUTHERN NATURALLY:
Bluff oyster season is in full swing; why not

THE ORCHARD SUN CLUB:
2 nd and 4 th Sunday of the month from 5 to
6pm:
Warm swim nights at the Physio Pool, Dunedin
Hospital in the city centre. Cost: $7 payable at
the door.
1 st Sunday of the month 5 to 7pm: Sauna and
spa nights at Lucky 7, Rattray St, Dunedin. $10.
