Hi-Tech Fabric Roman Shades are made using a bonding and fusing method with no stitching 

involved and with exclusive Thermo UV Resistant slats and brass grommets. The metal rails 

along the top and bottom and stabilizing slats at each pleat assure precise shade width and 

length to create a uniform look. These quality components and techniques allow us to 

manufacture a product that will retain its shape and beautiful design better than any other 

Roman Shade for years to come.

Hi-Tech Shade Advantages 

NEW ULTIMATE STYLES: Our New Ultimate Styles in Galaxy, Waterfall and with the new 

SheerVue option are your: 

Safe Roman Shade Solution - no cords exposed to the rear of the shade, which 

prevents risk of strangulation. Plus the operating cord is equipped with a 

break-away feature or a guided universal cord-tensioner. 

Energy Efficient Solution - cellular lined back of shade is standard, allowing for up 

to 62% reduction in heat or cold transfer. 

Shades can be made with DSC fabrics or customer’s own material (COM): 

Plaids and sheers (see through fabrics) should not be used for these shades. If approved by 

DSC, surcharges will apply (on page 34) . 

Price: Competitive low price for superior quality and durability. 

Exclusive Design: Offer your customer a product that is new, exciting, exclusive and with the 

new Ultimate and SheerVue styles, one that is extremely safe and energy efficient. 

Accuracy: Metal rails and stabilizing slats assure precise width and length. 

Blackout Lining: Standard (white) on all shades unless otherwise specified. Excludes the 

Ultimate Galaxy. 

Fabric: Unlimited color and design options using DSC’s fabrics or Customer’s Own Material 

(COM). 

Matching Valance Included in Shade Price: 4 1/2” valances will be provided to cover 

headrail. If valance is not required, specify no valance. 

Longer length and separate valances are available - see price chart on page 34. 

Outside mount valances come with a wrapped return to cover the depth of the 

headrail only. You must specify if deeper returns are necessary. 

Inside mount valance returns are not available. 

Style: A contemporary look for today’s interiors. 

Cleaning: Periodic vacuuming keeps shades clean while most spots or stains are easily 

removed with a damp cloth. 

Warranty 

DSC Window Fashions warrants that our Hi-Tech Fabric Roman Shades will be free from 

defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of purchase, for 

original purchaser only. This warranty expressly excludes indirect or consequential damages 

or losses or costs. It also does not cover fabric fading and deterioration due to the elements, or 

damages to fabric by improper cleaning or handling. DSC Window Fashions will repair or 

replace defective parts without charge for the parts. To obtain warranty service, the purchaser 

must return the shade/s to DSC at their expense.

Standard Features 

A SAFE Roman Shade solution with no cords exposed 

to the rear of the shade, thus preventing the risk of 

strangulation. Complies with all ANSI and WCMA 

standards. 

The operating cord is equipped with a break-away 

feature or a guided universal cord-tensioner. 

The Ultimate Galaxy is offered standard without 

lining on the face fabric. You have the option to add 

blackout or sateen lining to the face fabric which 

provides extra stability and body to many fabrics. 

Cellular lined back of shade is standard, allowing a 

62% reduction in heat or cold transfer. 

Single shade widths up to 96” or order two separate 

shades and butt them together to go even wider. 

(Specify one continuous valance at no additional 

charge.) 

4 1/2” Valance 

Outside mount valances will have a wrapped 

return that covers the depth of the headrail 

unless longer projection is specified. 

Inside mount valance returns are not 

available.

Headrails and Control Options 

We use headrails that allow the customer complete control and shade size options. Shades can 

be manufactured up to 120" wide on one headrail. For shades wider than 96”, we recommend 

you order two shades side by side and specify one continuous valance to cover both. We also 

recommend that you use the same headrail in the same room, therefore assuring projections, 

cord colors and cord mechanisms are the same. All headrails are white.

Control Cords 

Control cords are color-coordinated to the fabric. Note that all cord colors do not match

DSC reserves the right to determine the suitability of Customer’s Own Material. Upon arrival at 

DSC, COM is measured and inspected for flaws/suitability. Horizontal stripes, plaids and 

see-through fabrics such as tergals, sheers and lace overlays are not usually suited for 

fabrication and are not recommended. Additional charges will apply if these selections are 

approved by DSC.

Figuring Yardage Requirements: Refer to pages 31 and 32 or use DSC’s on-line yardage

Hi-Tech. The yardage calculator is for estimation purposes only. You must know the fabric 

width and horizontal and vertical repeats. Fabric left over from COM orders will not be 

returned unless requested at time of order. 

Two Shades on One Headrail 

Price as an overall shade width and add a $30 surcharge. DSC recommends making two 

separate shades placed side by side with one continuous valance. Please notate on order if side 

by side. 

Motorization 

DSC has motorized the Hi-Tech ® Roman Shade for many years. As prices are subject to 

fluctuations, we ask that you fax your request to DSC at 800-340-4380 for a quote on either 

battery or DC hard-wired motorization applications. 

Adding Trim, Fringe or Banding 

Trims (pre-made fringe, braided cording, etc) or fabric banding (made in-house DSC fabric or

Internet orders are accepted 24 hours a day 7 days a week on our website at 

dscwindowfashions.com. An e-mail confirmation will automatically be sent to you 

acknowledging your order. If you will provide customer service with your e-mail address, we 

can send shipping confirmations on all orders that are placed online with DSC Window 

Fashions. 

Fax, Mail or E-mail orders are also accepted and confirmations will be sent out automatically. 

Please advise customer service if you do not receive a confirmation. 

Phone orders are also accepted. All phone orders are tape recorded and read back for accuracy. 

Any incorrect information must be brought to our attention at the time that the order is placed. 

Phone orders are the dealer’s responsibility. 

Cancellations 

No changes or cancellations will be accepted once an order has been started or materials have 

been cut. If the order has not been started, request a cancellation number from customer 

service. Keep the cancellation number on file. Charges will occur if cancellation number cannot 

be provided and the order is manufactured. 

Shortages and Freight Damage 

Check all shipments carefully for damage and the correct piece count. If packages are damaged 

or missing, notify DSC customer service immediately. Save all packaging materials for 

inspection by the carrier when damages occur. On LT or truck shipments, be sure to sign the 

freight bill as damaged or short at the time you receive the shipment. In case of concealed 

damage notify the carrier immediately for inspection.

Shades to be repaired must be clean (free of dust and dirt) or they will be 

returned at the customer’s expense.

Ordering Tips 

Order the Right Parts 

Remember to order special installation parts when you place your order. Things like cord 

cleats, spacer blocks and hold down brackets are free when they ship with your shade order but 

are costly if forgotten. Your installation could be delayed and a second freight charge may 

apply. 

Room Locations 

DSC wants to know the room location of every shade you order. Providing this information 

alerts the workroom to any potential fabric, pattern or cord match requirements and it also 

helps you install the job in less time. 

Continuous Cord Loop Systems 

The Easy Up and Powerlift headrails are continuous cord loop systems. Cord loops are 

available in 12” increments. DSC will supply the proper length cord loop automatically but if 

you have a special requirement, please note desired length when you order. 

Side by Side Shades 

Be sure to notate on the order when shades are side by side. This ensures that pleat spacing, 

cords and fabric patterns are matched. Shades that are the same length can easily be matched 

however, shades of varying lengths may not line up perfectly. 


The Top Down/Bottom Up feature is the most popular privacy 

option in window coverings. 

Note: On a continuous cord loop system the top down feature 

will be operated by the standard pull cord and the bottom up 

feature will be operated by the continuous cord loop.
