Below is an overview of a normal Bou-Matic Rotary specification, with a brief description
and image of each product, and available options.
There are many more options available to ensure the system is tailored to your requirements,
budget and management system. In some situations, the option is pictured rather than the
normal specification.

Basic Plant Layout
- The installation has been designed for use on an Australian Made Cabinet bail
with a fold down stainless steel jetter door, with many other options available
- Information pack including all operator manuals, wall charts and safety signage
- All lines on the rotary platform will be mounted in an internal low-line position or
optional external lowline
Receival can
- 575 x 406mm domed end stainless steel
vessel.
- Tangential milkline inlets and milk
pump outlets with stainless steel
fittings.
Sanitary Trap
- 915 x 406mm open both ends.
- Includes auto shut off, auto drain, test
points and connections to the receiver,
twin pulse line feeds and main air line
Milkline
- 102mm stainless steel looped milkline
with welded fittings
- 19mm welded top dead centre milk
nipples, stainless steel butterfly valve,
mounted with stainless steel brackets
that will allow the line to move with
expansion and contraction.
- This particular line is in an external low
line position - optional

Pulsation
- Bou-Matic Electric Twin
- Each pulsator drives a cluster in a 2+2
format.
- The pulsator has sealed coils which can
be cleaned either in place or in a sink.
- Picture shows the pulsator line and
filtered airline mounted in an external
highline position
Filtered air system
- A foam element air filter for every ten
pulsators.
- The filtered airline is 75mm PVC, and
will also run in an internal low line
position.
- Picture shows this line in an external
high line position - optional
Pulsator airline
- 63mm stainless steel line will be looped and have twin feeds back to the centre
sanitary trap.
- It will have nylon unions or optional welded fittings along its entire length.
Vacuum gauge
- 80mm dial vacuum gauge
Flo-Tek Gland
- The Flo-Tek dual gland will carry
102mm vacuum and 50mm milk.
- It comes with seven slip rings, suitable
for three phase power.
- The gland comes complete with
mounting frame, supports and
equipment mounting panel.

Flo-Tek Jetter
- Flo-Tek No 6 clip in jetter will be
mounted on the jetter door supplied with
the platform.
- All clips face the front for ease of use.
- It comes standard with a non return
valve and flow adjustment.
Jetter Line
- 50mm stainless steel will be looped and
comes complete with two suction points
with a stainless steel butterfly valve and
blanking cap.
- It will have rubber sleeves, or optional
welded fittings, and welded 16mm
nipples for the jetter feed.
- We include the rubber tube to connector
the jetter to the line.
Jetter feed
- A 50mm stainless steel line running from the wash connection point at the
platform back to the wash barrel with rubber fittings or optional welded fittings
along its length.
Claws
- Flo-Star Classic claw has a 350mm
capacity, shut off, 19mm outlet, 13mm
inlets and a complete cluster weight of
around 2kg.
- We include a light weight shell, R1EX
vented liners, claw tubes and a cluster
hook.
- The unique design of the Flo-Star Claw
swirls the milk down and out of the
claw with no cross contamination, and
ensures accurate cluster alignment

Droppers
- A combination of stainless steel tube and rubber tube for the droppers.
- The stainless will be used under the platform, with rubber coming out either side
connecting to the cluster.
Milk Pumps
- Twin Bou-Matic 0.75kw centrifugal
milk pumps will be mounted alongside
the receiver.
- Their outlets will be plumbed together
into a single delivery line. There will be
welded fittings in this area.
- We include stainless steel milk pump
covers.
Milk Pump Controls
- A Bou-Matic on/off controller will be mounted for each milk pump.
- Opti-Flo variable speed drive is optional
Milk delivery line
- 50mm stainless steel milk delivery line will run from the outlet of the milk pumps
off platform through the gland, filters and cooler.
- It will have welded unions along its entire length.
Milk Filter
- The F105 milk filter uses a 150 x
950mm filter sleeve.
- It will come with a packet of 100
sleeves, mounting brackets, and all
welded connections.
Plate cooler
- We include an industrial plate cooler
that will be mounted on a galvanized
stand.

Vacuum Pumps
- The Bou-Matic BP400 blower style
vacuum pump comes mounted on a
custom made stand that incorporates
motor mount and adjusters, belt guards
and floor mounts.
- The Blower style pump does not use oil
or water during operation, thus there is
no waste or environmental
contamination.
- The system will come complete with a
160 litre PVC interceptor, and in-line
filter, exhaust system, non-return valve,
motors, belts, pullies and guards.

Main Airline
- A 102mm stainless steel main airline with welded fittings will run from the
interceptor to the centre gland.
Regulator
- A Bou-Matic Stabilvac regulator system
is installed to maintain the correct
vacuum levels
Wash return line
- A 50mm stainless steel line with welded
fittings will run from near the vat to the
wash barrel so water can be recirculated
during the wash cycle.
- Milk delivery is right hand line, wash
return is left hand side, running back to
wash barrel

Wash valve
- There will be one single 50mm valve to control wash water entering the plant
Wash Drum
- There will be a single 600 litre wash drum mounted on a stand
Auto Drain
- Three vacuum operated drains around the milking machine
Optional Equipment
The following equipment can be added to your milking machine to enhance its performance,
make management easier or reduce labour requirements.
Bail identification numbers
- Waterproof vinyl sticker used to identify each bail, and the relevant pulsator
Electric or Pneumatic Actuator for Milkline
- Normally used in conjunction with an auto wash system.
- When the system goes into wash mode, the milkline valve is shut using an electric
actuator, and at the same time opens the water supply for the air injector.
Milk Recovery System
- Uses oil-less compressed air to force
the saleable milk from the milk
delivery line into the vat.
- A 50mm line holds 1.8 litres of milk
per metre, so the savings soon add up.
- Includes the control unit, connections
and compressor.

Stainless Steel Pulsator Line
- Pulsator line will be 76mm stainless steel with welded fittings along its entire
length.
Stainless Steel unions on jetter feed
- Welded fittings along the entire length of the jetter system, from the jetter line in
the pit to the wash barrel.
Guardian II Auto Wash System
- This plant wash system controls all
main functions during a wash cycle,
including hot and cold water valves to
attain the programmed temperature, vac
pump, milk pump, air injector, detergent
pumps, recirculation and drain valves.
- The program is flexible, being able to
tailor the programs to suit the milking
machine and operators requirements.
- We also include another 7 rings on the
gland to ensure the Guardian II can
communicate with all components on platform.
- Guardian II control unit mounted on wall near rotary platform
Permanent Wash Gland
- The permanent wash gland means the
platform does not have to be stopped to
wash the plant, or operate the milk
recovery system.
- The gland pictured also carries
compressed air
Ball style milk pump NRV
- The standard rubber non return flap is replaced with a stainless steel fitting with a
nylon ball.
- They are a very durable valve.

OptiFlo Variable speed milk pump
- A variable speed drive on a milk pump
will match the speed of the pump to the
flow rate of liquid into the receiver.
- The aim is to have the pump operating
at all times, meaning a consistent flow
of liquid through the filter and cooler,
thus increasing their efficiency,
resulting in cooler milk in the vat.
Variable speed for blower vac pump
- As with a milk pump VSD, this unit
speeds up and slows down the vacuum
pump to maintain a constant vacuum
level.
- This means the pump runs slower,
meaning less noise, less power, less
wear and thus a longer operating life.

Stainless steel main airline
- On all plant sizes we would use 76m stainless steel tube with welded fittings.
QA monitor
- This small unit has many features,
including digital vacuum gauge, high
and low vacuum monitor, hour meter,
provides up to four programmable
alarms including service due and liners
due.

4200D Detachers
- The Detacher uses a 50mm stainless
steel ram with a nylon cord.
- There are only two buttons for operation
with LED indicators.
- Adjustable functions are let down delay,
take off delay, milk sweep, flow rate,
maximum milking time.
- Claw drop and claw lift is standard,
meaning the cluster will come around
under the bridge.
- The 4200D can also control a pulsator,
meaning the pulsator will stop between
cows and during wash cycles.
Bail Gate Controls
- The Bou-Matic 4200D provides an output to drive a bail gate.
- This option incudes a solenoid valve and connections so the 4200D ram will
operate the platform manufacturers Bail Gate.
- It does not include the cost of the gate.
Jetstream
- A vacuum operated teat spray unit that
comes with a gun for every five units.
- Unit pictured mounted on wall in a
separate chemical storage area

ATS5000 walk over teat spray
- The ATS5000 comes complete with the
compressor, floor unit, side skirts,
power supply and all connections.
- When the cows enter the unit, it
activates a loading time.
- When this time has been met, and the
cow leaves the spray area, the twin fan
nozzles operate for the programmed
period of time.
Flo-Star MAX claw
- The MAX claw has been designed for
use with Detachers, and as such has no
shut off valve to be a point of
contamination or restriction.
- The MAX’s unique design and the
resins used in its manufacture make it
stronger than earlier Bou-Matic steel
claws.
- The nipple placement reduces the
possibility of cross contamination, and
ensures the cluster alignment is
optimized.
- This claw is new to the market and
unique in design.
