E-<strong>Mon</strong> Energy System Options<br />
ECA ( External Contact Adapter)<br />
The ECA is designed to allow users to monitor the utility meter<br />
with the E-<strong>Mon</strong> Energy system. A pulse contact provided by the<br />
utility meter sends energy information via the ECA to the IDR<br />
(Interval Data Recorder). The E-<strong>Mon</strong> Energy software, in turn,<br />
reads the kilowatt-hour and demand data from the IDR.<br />
Additionally, the ECA can be used with water, gas and BTU<br />
meters with a contact (pulse) output.<br />
Run-Time Sensor<br />
The Run-Time Sensor is designed to provide a convenient way of providing "run-time" information to the IDR.<br />
The split-core CT allows the unit to be installed without the need of a contact or switch on the monitored<br />
equipment. When the sensor's contact closes it is read by the E-<strong>Mon</strong> Energy Software and can be utilized<br />
to account for the run-time of the equipment in 5 or 15 minute intervals.<br />
