EquiLend partners with<br />
Finadium and FinTuition<br />
EquiLend University, the global training programme<br />
of EquiLend, will be run in partnership<br />
with Finadium in North America and FinTuition<br />
in EMEA and Asia.<br />
Finadium is a research and consulting firm<br />
focused on securities finance and asset ser-<br />
vicing. The firm publishes an independent<br />
research report series highlighting securities<br />
lending, repo and collateral management for<br />
EquiLend University.<br />
FinTuition is an international training company<br />
based in London that specialises in securities<br />
finance business including, securities lending,<br />
equity finance, hedge funds, prime brokerage,<br />
repo and collateral management.<br />
Brian Lamb, CEO of EquiLend, said: “As our<br />
use base continues to grow, it is necessary<br />
to expand our global training programme for<br />
our platform by partnering with Finadium<br />
and FinTuition.”<br />
“The partnerships will allow us to deliver an<br />
even more robust training programme that<br />
will include an integral certification component.<br />
This qualification will provide an industry<br />
standard of measuring the caliber of one’s<br />
EquiLend expertise.”<br />

GSF down but AUA up<br />
for Clearstream<br />
Clearstream’s January 2013 figures showed a<br />
decrease in global securities finance (GSF) but<br />
an increase in assets under custody.<br />
In February 2013, assets under custody held<br />
on behalf of customers reached €11.4 trillion, a<br />
year-on-year increase of four percent.<br />
For GSF services, the monthly average outstanding<br />
reached €563.3 billion. The combined<br />
services, which include triparty repo, securities<br />
lending and collateral management, collectively<br />
experienced a drop of six percent over<br />
February 2012.<br />
The investment funds services saw an 18 percent<br />
increase over February 2012, with 0.62<br />
million transactions processed.<br />
