Family Support Worker<br />

The Family Support Worker provides families with<br />

home-based, culturally competent services in the<br />

Bushwick HFNY Program to promote optimal child<br />

development, enhance parent-child relationships and<br />

improve family support system through weekly home<br />

visits.<br />

• Activities occur primarily within the family’s home<br />

and include providing prenatal, parenting and health<br />

education.<br />

• Activities also include identifying and referring for<br />

contacts/appointments at other supportive agencies,<br />

including health care appointments.<br />

9 – 5pm with schedule flexibility<br />

• High level of maturity and experience working with<br />

children (0-3 years old) and their families.<br />

• Strong knowledge of early childhood development,<br />

parenting skills and development of parent-child<br />

relationships.<br />

• High School Diploma or GED<br />

• Must be bilingual (Spanish).<br />

• Associates’ Degree in Early Childhood Development,<br />

Health, Social Work or related human service field.<br />

• At least two years of experience home visiting and


working with low-income, racially and ethnically<br />

diverse urban families.<br />
