4. Recruiting the most needed orphan, street children and children from poor family from different parts of the country and give them hope for their future CONDITION OF PROJECT Chauk Township is located in the Magwe Division and the people living in this area are daily basis workers and have poor livelihoods. There are Army battalions, garment factories, oil factories, small businesses and many monasteries. As most of them are daily basis workers, they include road-side traders, temporary workers, and army and government retirees. NGO and INGO don’t have any work in this area. There are estimated about more than 100,000 poor children who don’t go to school because of their families’ difficulties in this township. They also need nutrition support and there are about 7% of the population living in this area who are suffering from HIV/AIDS. Business Since most of the people are daily basis workers, their work is not permanent and they have to find another job if their current job is done. Their earning is around $1/day and the whole family have to live on the low income. Because their income and expenses are not balance, they have to get loan and because of that they have to give interest and their life is getting more and more harder. All of the family members have to work and earn some money. That is why some of their children have to work for selling water, and dealing something in the market after they come back from home. Health Because they have low living standard, they don’t have much health education. They don’t have any health awareness and because of poverty, many children died in the hospital and during childbirth. This project aims to provide assistance of food and other necessaries to at least 15 orphans. Education The poverty struck this township with many difficulties for business, health and even education. A family with 4 children cannot send all of their children to school and 2 of them have to work outside to earn money for the family. The government schools demand some donations and fees for the school materials and parents can’t provide all of their needs. The children also need better education like tuition since the teachers in government schools can’t provide fair education to all the students. This kind of division downgrades the children’s eagerness to study in school. The supervisors and other teachers will do the work and depending on needs, they will conduct training and workshop sometimes for the families. Evaluation of the overall work will be done once a year at the year-end meeting.
