JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, plan, design, develop, assist, coordinate and
produce print and electronic communications; assist in establishing and
maintaining professional graphic and identity standards. Work location
is Corporate Headquarters in Jackson, Michigan.
Department Specific SCOPE OF JOB:
The Graphic Designer takes projects/designs from the initial concept
stage, or completes projects already underway, and coordinates steps
through the completion of the projects; creates layouts and designs
artwork for publications, newsletters, posters and ads for print and the
web. This is a paid internship.
Additional Information KEYS TO SUCCESS:
- Creating and developing new and unique projects to represent an idea.
This may include working with a design team or working directly with the
client.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator software to
generate final projects for client's approval. Knowledge of Flash also
is helpful.
-Understanding of photography, image editing and manipulation helpful.
-Modifying, revising and editing projects as required.
-Staying within timelines and deadlines for completion dates for projects. This
requires good time
management and organizational skills.
-Responsible for print and prepress service specifications, approvals and quality
control.
-Self-starter with an eagerness to learn.
-Previous related work experience helpful, but not required.
- We will add skills and abilities to your creative and production tool box.

REQUIRED:
Currently college juniors or seniors majoring in graphic arts/visual
communications are encouraged to apply.
Five to ten portfolio samples.
