1. Remove <strong>the</strong> navigation computer<br />

and CD changer if equipped.<br />

2. Remove <strong>the</strong> navigation computer<br />

bracket attaching bolts(1) and<br />

bracket (if equipped) to access <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>DSP</strong> <strong>Amplifier</strong> connectors<br />

3. Remove <strong>the</strong> connectors and <strong>the</strong><br />

two top attaching bolts(black<br />

arrows) and loosen <strong>the</strong> bottom two<br />

attaching bolts(not necessary to<br />

remove). Remove <strong>the</strong> amplifier<br />

from <strong>the</strong> vehicle by lifting up and<br />

out(white arrows).<br />

4. Install <strong>the</strong> <strong>DSP</strong> <strong>Amplifier</strong> and<br />

Navigation computer/CD changer(if<br />

equipped). Refer to Service<br />

Information Bulletin 65 14 98 for<br />

coding instructions.<br />

5. Verify correct <strong>DSP</strong> operation.<br />

Service Action Label<br />

Instructions:<br />

Th<strong>is</strong> Service Action has been assigned code number 236. <strong>After</strong> <strong>the</strong> vehicle has been<br />

checked, and corrected if necessary, obtain a label (SD 92-095) and:<br />

a) emboss your BMW dealer warranty number in <strong>the</strong> middle of <strong>the</strong> label (1);<br />

b) punch out code number 236 printed on <strong>the</strong> label and,<br />

c) affix <strong>the</strong> label to <strong>the</strong> B pillar as shown:<br />

If <strong>the</strong> vehicle already has a label from a previous Service Action/Recall Campaign, affix <strong>the</strong><br />

new label next to <strong>the</strong> old one. Do not affix one label on top of ano<strong>the</strong>r one because a number<br />

from an underlying label could appear in <strong>the</strong> punched-out hole of <strong>the</strong> new label.<br />
