to the ever-increasing housing backlog in our target
market. The crippling shortage of the supply and
availability of affordable quality houses in our target
market, to satisfy the rising demand, is another factor
that makes us realise that more needs to be done
across the housing value chain before we can be
assured that all South Africans enjoy the benefits of a
well-housed nation. As we have done in the first decade,
we will work collaboratively with our many public and
private sector partners and our stakeholders, and call
upon the expertise, and the commitment and dedication
of our employees, to work toward our dream of servicing
the housing finance needs of the low and middleincome
households in South Africa.
the years, and as we embark on the transformation
of the Corporation, I will continue to rely on their
support and counsel. The new NHFC is also a tribute
to the National Housing Minister, Dr Lindiwe Sisulu,
whose unwavering support for the Corporation is
most appreciated.
As we celebrate 10 years as a National Housing
Finance Agency, I have every confidence that we will
continue to display the many attributes that have made
NHFC the strong Corporation that it is: creativity,
commitment, dedication and an ability to stay the course
when needed and the vision to set new directions when
challenges warrant.
CONCLUSION
I wish to pay a special tribute to Mr Eric Molobi, our past
Board Chairman, for his outstanding contribution, from
the inception of the Corporation and to date, as we chart
the new course for the Corporation.
A special thanks goes to all the Board members of the
Corporation for their commitment and wise counsel over
