This course involves the study of nutritional requirements in pregnancy, lactation, infancy, and childhood growth through adolescence. Topics include the relationship between maternal diet and pregnancy outcome; analysis of different methods of infant feeding; and nutritional status of pregnant women, children, and adolescents in the United States and in developing countries. NutrSci 332: Methods in Nutritional Sciences, Spring, 3 credits (1991). Introduction to principles and procedure of analytical techniques and data analysis in human nutrition with emphasis on analytical skills and technical knowledge necessary to understand how to measure and interpret nutrient status of individuals.
Kathleen Maher Rasmussen 9 NutriSci 450/4500: Public Health Nutrition, Spring, 2 or 3 credits (1998-present) with Dr. D. Pelletier (until 2008).
