adidas has a long standing history in running and athletics dating back to 1928 when their founder, Adi Dassler, supplied Lina Radke with a
handmade pair of spikes to wear during the Olympic Games in Amsterdam. Many more heroes of athletics have followed including Jesse
Owens, Emil Zátopek, Al Oerter, Bob Beamon, Daley Thompson, Grete Waitz, Heike Henkel and Haile Gebrselassie. Today, adidas continues its
leadership and presence in the running and athletics world as the sponsor of several major global marathons including London, Boston, Seoul,
Santiago and Berlin. Most recently, adidas signed an 11-year partnership agreement with the IAAF granting adidas the world-wide sponsorship
rights for all IAAF World Athletic Series events until 2019.
adidas further shows its passion for running and its running community when they announced the launch of its nationwide running club, the

adidas king of the road (KOTR) is a running championship held across Southeast Asia. Aimed at bringing runners together from across
the region, the race will make its regional debut in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines culminating in the KOTR
Southeast Asia Championship, which will be held in Singapore. The KOTR is created for people who love to run. In addition to the single
city race, KOTR offers participants a multi-city option, equivalent to two full marathons, made more enjoyable by the most scenic and
exciting landmarks in the region.
Each year, a different event theme will be introduced to add vibrancy to the race atmosphere. This year, the theme is 'colours', and this is
represented through a variety of different-coloured adidas event racing tops that will be provided in the race pack. The colours
demonstrate the vibrancy of the sports scene across Southeast Asia.

Information Tent
There will be a main information tent at the race site to assist you with event information.
Baggage Deposit
Baggage deposit area will open at 4.30am (09 September) and close at 10.30am. (09 September)
Participants are encouraged not to bring any valuables on race day as the organizers will not be responsible for the loss of items. Please expect
delays 15mins before each race start. We strongly advise all runners to be early to use this service to avoid any delay in your start times.

Race Etiquette / Distance Markers / Finisher Medal
Race Etiquette
• If you encounter any problems during the run, please approach the
event race marshals for assistance.
• Please keep to your left to allow faster competitors to overtake. If you
encounter participants in the right side of the lane who are moving at a
slower pace, please call out, “On your right.” As a courtesy, all
participants are required to move to the left when they hear this.

• Every participant who crosses the finish line will receive a
Finisher Medal.
• The Finisher Medal can only be collected at the event.

Results / Dispute / Race Certs with Timing
Results
• Race ranking will be by GUN TIME.
• Results will be posted on the official
www.adidaskingoftheroad.com/my/ website within 48 hours
after the race.
Dispute over Winner’s Results
• In the event of a dispute over prize results, an appeal must be
lodged at the Information Counter within 15 minutes of the
category’s prize presentation.
• A non-refundable RM50 administration fee will be charged per
appeal.
• The organizers reserve the final rights to the decision over the
dispute of race results.
Race Certificates with Net Timing
Personalized certificates with “Net Time” will be available
electronically from the official www.adidaskingoftheroad.com/my/
website for your download one month after race results have been
released.
Lost and Found
Found items should be deposited at the Information Counter.
At the end of the event, found items will be transported to the
HiVelocity’s office at Hivelocity Events Sdn Bhd, A-17-G, Ground
Floor, Block A, Jaya One, 72A Jalan Universiti, 46200 Petaling
Jaya, Selangor. If you have lost an item, it will be your responsibility
to locate it by contacting the race organizers with a description,
and to pay for its return to you.
All found items will be discarded one month after the race date.

RACE TIMING – B-TAG TIMING SYSTEM
adidas King of the Road Malaysia 2011 will be adopting the B-Tag System to record your times electronically.
Participants are required to read the following instructions in order to use the B-Tag correctly.
HOW DO I USE MY B-TAG?
The B-Tag is a disposable one time race tag which will be attached behind your race bib. Do not bend your race bib or it will damage the timing B-Tag.
B-TAG FAQS
• What do I do with the B-Tag after the run?
You do not need to return your B-Tag and can dispose of it after
completing the race.
• What happens if the B-Tag gets wet?
The tag is completely weatherproof and will work regardless of
rain, heat, storms, humidity or other inclement conditions.
• How do I make sure that my tag works?
Each B-tag is checked and double-checked for functionality
before they are distributed to the athlete. The tag is always “on”
and does not need to be activated. There will be no “tag check”
or “chip check” at the Race Pack Collection.
• What is tag time and how is it different from gun time?
Tag time (Chip time) is recorded by an electronic tag that is
attached to the back of your race bib. Your tag records the time at
which you cross the start line, the finish line and several split times
in between. Tag time is often shorter than gun time because tag
time begins when a runner crosses the start line while gun time
starts when the gun is fired; many runners don’t cross the start line
until several minutes after their official gun time has begun.
• How accurate is tag time?
Tag time is the most accurate form of run timing available because
it measures the exact time between a runner crossing the start line
and the finish line. Tag time also records several important splits,
providing an accurate record of a runner’s pace.
