Get a Head Start to Uni
Are you a Year 11 or 12 student looking for a challenge?
Or perhaps you are really passionate about a certain field of
education or you may even be deciding whether university is
for you. The University of Southern Queensland’s Head Start
program could be just what you are searching for. It is
designed to provide senior students with the opportunity to
study a university course and get a taste of what university is
really like. You can either study on campus and attend real
lectures or even study through our renowned distance
education programs. Benefits of this program include; full
academic credit, guaranteed entry into USQ (on successful
completion) and the only costs for this opportunity are your
textbooks and materials. That’s right, the course is offered free
of charge, potentially saving you a lot of money.

invited to come along to our Head Start Information Night on
Wednesday 16 November at 6pm at the Fraser Coast
campus, Room C210, 161 Old Maryborough Road.

New on-campus at USQ Fraser Coast
In 2012 the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) Fraser
Coast is extending its on-campus offerings to include degrees
in psychology and environmental studies. Students can
complete the first year of a Bachelor of Science (Psychology)
degree at the USQ campus in Hervey Bay. Those interested in
getting into the emerging ‘green professions’ can attend
tutorials for the courses, Environmental Studies and Weather &
Climate, as part of the Bachelor of Science (Environment and
Sustainability) degree. Students enrolling in either of these
degrees will be required to complete some of the courses via
distance or at the USQ Toowoomba campus.
