Graduation Test Intervals:<br />

Every 1m for initial <strong>and</strong> subsequent calibrations.<br />

Recalibration Intervals:<br />

Every four years or after damage / repair of the bar.<br />

Limitation on Use:<br />

The calibrated steel tape should be used for checking the accuracy of other<br />

working measuring bars.<br />

Vernier Callipers <strong>and</strong> Micrometers<br />

Applicable St<strong>and</strong>ards:<br />

ISO 6906:1984 Vernier calipers reading to 0.02 mm or<br />

BS 887:2008 Precision Vernier calipers. Requirements <strong>and</strong> test methods or<br />

AS 1984-1997: Vernier Callipers (metric series) or<br />

JIS B 7507:1993 Vernier, dial <strong>and</strong> digital callipers or<br />

DIN 862 (1988-12) Vernier calipers requirements <strong>and</strong> testing.<br />

ISO 3611:1978 Micrometer callipers for external measurement or<br />

AS 2102-1989 Micrometer callipers for external measurement or<br />

BS EN ISO 3611 Micrometer callipers for external measurement or<br />

BS 870:2008 Micrometer callipers for external measurement or<br />

JIS B 7502:1994 Micrometer callipers for external measurement or<br />

DIN 863-1 (1994-04) Micrometer callipers for external measurement.<br />

Test Temperature:<br />

The calibration test shall be undertaken at a temperature selected by the<br />

laboratory within the range 20 to 23 degrees Celsius <strong>and</strong> stable to ±1.0 degree<br />

Celsius during the test.<br />

Required 95% Confidence Limit Uncertainty of a Single Measurement:<br />

±0.05mm<br />

Reading<br />

To the nearest 0.1mm.<br />

Recalibration Intervals:<br />

Every four years or after damage / repair.<br />

Electronic Distance Measuring<br />

Applicable St<strong>and</strong>ards:<br />

Australia: Regulation 80 of the National St<strong>and</strong>ard Measurement Act 1960<br />

Required 95% Confidence Limit Uncertainty of a Single Measurement:<br />

±(6mm + 4ppm.)<br />
