MDC seek to improve life in coastal community and marine ecosystems trough: - Coastal Resources Management, - Community development, - Research and Development, - Communications and Advocacy, - Institutional Building. MCD recognizes the living interdependency of coastal communities and marine ecosystems. Therefore, coastal and marine environment must be protected to ensure the livelihoods of local people are sustained. As degrading marine ecosystems reduce present and future opportunities for coastal communities, MCD’s goal is to harmonize conservation with socio-economic development. Volunteer's requirements Team work, Native English speakers preferred, Computer skills, Flexibility / adaptability, Bring a laptop, Educational degree or practical experience required, Send CV and cover letter, Minimum stay 6 months. Volunteer's tasks Writing and editing documents, Fund-raising, Teaching English to the locals, Update profiles, Organization of dailies tasks, Networking, Number of volunteers in the project 1
Host situation Volunteers will stay in a dormitory with rooms shared with other volunteers. Sometimes homestay may be arranged. Living conditions will be Vietnamese standard with shared bathroom, single bed with mattress. Food will be provided at accommodation. Meals will be mostly local food, which vary from the daily cooking schedule. About lunch, most of the time food is provided by the local staff of the NGO. Reach offers three months vocational trainings and job placement in the field of hospitality, sales, customers relations and technology of information Access to sustainable employment is essential to everybody’s lives. Studies show the serious social and economic consequences unemployment can have on the individual and the group. As its worst, it can lead to a life of violence, drugs abuse, vandalism and other problems including prostitution and crime. REACH courses equip students with the necessary educational and practical skills to gain fruitful employment and productively manage their lives.
