To develop a technical report on design procedures for roadway
lighting based on the visibility level concept.
To set up the framework for standards for road transport lighting -
automotive lighting, road and environmental lighting - in developing
countries, based on CIE standards.
To recommend visual performance for retroreflective traffic signs,
including the study of driving scenarios, vehicle geometry and headlight
distributions.
To prepare a technical report on the role of lighting in the prevention of
crime and provide advice, using existing CIE reports as appropriate, on
the kinds of lighting that can be used to reduce the incidence of crime.
To cover the following items: escape route lighting of carriage-ways
and footways in case of fire taking into account aspects from
ventilation, lighting of emergency exits, lighting of lay-byes. The main
aim is not only to recommend the appropriate lighting levels, but also to

Performance assessment method for
vehicle headlamps
To revise Publication CIE 115-1995 in such a way that lighting
performance requirements may vary depending on actual status of
environmental and traffic conditions.
To produce a technical report with the objective of subsequently
developing a standard that defines an objective procedure for the
evaulation of forward lighting system performance in terms of active
safety. The work carried out by the former GTB EuroNCAP taskforce
