Autostart’s PRG-1000 TECH TOOL software update procedure.
STEP 1: Once the PRG-1000 program installed on your computer, Open it and connect your PRG-
1000 Tech Tool to the Weblink updater on your computer. The main opening screen should look like
the one below. Once opened, see the following procedure below…
‣ Click “Help”
‣ Choose “Update PRG-1000”
STEP 2 :
‣ Choose “Online update”
‣ Click “Ok”

STEP 3 :
‣ Click “Continue”
At this moment the computer software for
the PRG-1000 will connect to the Autostart
server and will download thru the web the
latest PRG-1000 firmware for your Tech
Tool.
STEP 4 :
Once the latest firmware is downloaded
in your computer,
‣ Click “OK”

STEP 5: To begin your PRG-1000 firmware update, please follow the following steps below…
‣ Click “Help”
‣ Choose “Update PRG-1000”
STEP 6:
‣ At this point, make sure your Tech Tool is
connected to your Weblink update cable
and make sure your Tech Tool is turned
ON.
‣ Notice the version on the opening screen of
the Tech Tool prior to the update. The
Version displayed should be 2.0 or Lower
as 2.0 being the latest available update at
this time.
‣ Then press on “PC LINK” on your Tech
Tool. You should then see « PC
Connecting… »

STEP 7 :
‣ Choose “Firmware update”
‣ Click “Ok”
STEP 8:
When the message « PC Connected Successfully »
is displayed on your PRG-1000 screen, you can
choose a version to upload in your Tech Tool.
‣ Then select the latest available version
‣ Click « Update ».

STEP 9:
‣ During the update process, DO NOT
DISCONNECT the Tech Tool from the Weblink
cable. The Firmware is currently being uploaded to
the PRG-1000.
STEP 10: Once the installation is finished successfully, you
should see the window on the screen shot on the right.
‣ Click “OK”
‣ Close the application.
STEP 11:
‣ Upon Power up of your Tech Tool you should see the
screen shot on the right. If so, the update is now
complete and the programmer is ready to be used.
‣ If your PRG-1000 indicates « Reset Unit To
FACTORY DEFAULT » during the
programming process, follow the Steps 12
to 17 to correct the problem.

Autostart’s PRG-1000 TECH TOOL
FACTORY RESET PROCEDURE
If your Autostart PRG-1000 TechTool is
displaying “Reset Unit To FACTORY
DEFAULT” during a TechTool firmware
upgrade, proceed with the following steps in order
to restore the functionalities of your Tech Tool
programmer.
This error might appear if the communication
fails between the computer and the Tech Tool
during a software update.
STEP 12 :
Connect your PRG-1000 Tech Tool to the Weblink updater cable on your computer and run the
Autostart PRG-1000 desktop software. At the main opening screen it should look like the one
below. Once opened, follow the procedure below…
‣ Click “Help”
‣ Choose “Update PRG-1000”

STEP 13 :
‣ Choose “Factory Restoration”
‣ Click “Ok”
STEP 14:
‣ During the Factory Restoration process, DO NOT
DISCONNECT the Tech Tool from the Weblink
cable. The Firmware is currently being uploaded to
the PRG-1000.
STEP 15:
‣ At the beginning of the Factory Restoration
process the COM port should match the one set
for the Weblink update tool previously set
automatically by your computer.
‣ The PRG-1000 software will scan the COM
ports to find the Weblink. Once located it will
show “Connected on COM3” if your Weblink
is set on COM 3. Then the Factory Restoration
process will begin.

STEP 16: Once the Factory Restoration process is finished
successfully, you should see the window on the screen shot on
the right.
‣ Click “OK”
‣ Close the application.
STEP 17:
‣ Upon Power up of your Tech Tool you should see the
screen shot on the right. If so, your Tech Tool has
been restored with the latest software uploaded to your
PRG-1000 desktop software. The programmer is
ready to be used.
