<strong>School</strong> <strong>Calendar</strong> <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong><br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>Right</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Children</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Free</strong> <strong>and</strong> Compulsory Education<br />
Act, 2009 provides for the following:<br />
Minimum Working Hours <strong>of</strong> a teacher per week = 45<br />
SN Item Norms <strong>and</strong> St<strong>and</strong>ards<br />
1 Minimum number <strong>of</strong><br />
working<br />
days/instructional<br />
hours in an academic<br />
year<br />
(i) two hundred working days for<br />
first class <strong>to</strong> fifth class;<br />
(ii) two hundred <strong>and</strong> twenty<br />
working days for sixth class <strong>to</strong><br />
eight class;<br />
iii) eight hundred instructional<br />
hours per academic year for first<br />
class <strong>to</strong> fifth class;<br />
iv) one thous<strong>and</strong> instructional<br />
hours per academic year for<br />
2 Minimum number <strong>of</strong><br />
working hours per<br />
week for the teacher<br />
sixth class <strong>to</strong> eighth class.<br />
forty five teaching including<br />
preparation hours.<br />
In view <strong>of</strong> all the above the stage wise calendar have been<br />
designed <strong>and</strong> placed on website. All stake holders may submit<br />
their comments by 30 th March, <strong>2011</strong>, since these calendars will<br />
come in<strong>to</strong> effect from 1 st <strong>of</strong> April, <strong>2011</strong>.
