Caritas <strong>Award</strong><br />
This award was introduced last year, in commemoration of the visit of Pope Benedict<br />
XVI to Scotland in September 2010. The award winners have gained the Caritas <strong>Award</strong><br />
by volunteering time in their school and faith communities, offering practical support to<br />
others, and by demonstrating that these actions of loving service are inspired by faith in<br />
God. Their testimonies demonstrate the very significant impact of their involvement in<br />
the Caritas <strong>Award</strong> on their lives.<br />

Soroptimist International Leadership <strong>Award</strong><br />
Soroptimist International is a network for professional women who are involved in<br />
supporting education and support opportunities for women all over the world. This<br />
award has been introduced this year by the Kirkcaldy branch of Soroptimists<br />
International to recognise leadership among young women in our local schools. It will<br />
be awarded each year to the Head Girl of each Kirkcaldy High School in turn. Since<br />
this year’s president, Mrs Heather Stewart, is one of our staff, we are delighted that our<br />
retiring Head Girl is the first recipient of this award in Kirkcaldy.<br />
