Family Ministries Worship Coordinator

15-­‐17 hours per week
Ministry Description: The Family Ministries Worship Coordinator will oversee the
worship ministry in UpStreet, Crossroads, and The Walk, by developing students,
utilizing skilled adult volunteers, and leading worship gatherings.
Mission: To support the mission and vision of Covenant Life Church by providing
support in children’s, middle school, and high school student ministries.
Accountability: Reports to Director of Worship and the Arts; supports Director of
Family Ministries, Middle School Director, and High School Director
Qualifications:
1. Exhibits a personal lifestyle and confession that demonstrates that Jesus is
Lord of his / her life.
2. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within the organizational
structure of Covenant Life Church.
3. Exhibits a personality that engages youth.
4. Exhibits expertise in worship leadership (music, spoken word, scripture
reading, prayer, and other interactive forms of worship), and ability to relate
that to students.
5. Exhibits expertise instrumentally, with an understanding of how multiple
instruments fit together in a band setting to support worship.
6. Demonstrates a heart for worship, values the role of corporate worship, and
has the ability to tell his or her faith story.
7. Exhibits the ability to carry the worship vision from adult gatherings and
events, and translate it consistently into a student context.
8. Demonstrates a basic, functional understanding of technical equipment used
to support worship.
9. Preferably has 3 years or more of experience leading worship in a student
ministry context.

Ministry Responsibilities:
1. Lead worship at Middle School (Sunday morning) and High School (Sunday
evening) meetings (including necessary soundchecks).
2. Develop worship teams for Middle School and High School ministries, with a
focus on utilizing students.
3. Recruit and train students who have a passion for music and leading worship
in creative ways.
4. Encourage and develop student team members spiritually as you prepare
them to serve.
5. Plan, prepare, and distribute the necessary music for worship.
6. Arrange worship rehearsals for adequate preparation time before each
meeting or event. Communicate with parents, students and adult volunteers
regarding rehearsals.
7. Create a team environment that provides support and empowers skilled
students as they grow and learn.
8. Work with Middle School and High School directors to coordinate music with
teachings as appropriate.
9. Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to lead worship in the Children’s
Ministry on Sunday mornings, working with Director of Family Ministries to
carry out the vision.
10. Develop and support Children’s Ministry worship leaders with music
resources, tools, feedback and encouragement.
11. Coordinate technical support for all meetings, including lyric presentations,
and coordinating volunteers to run Sight and Sound.
12. Meet with Director of Worship and Arts weekly for support, development,
and feedback.
13. Meet with worship planning team once a week, as available.
14. Join Sunday morning CLC Worship Gatherings as available, either as a team
member / leader or while leading the youth band.
