Director of <strong>Worship</strong> and the Arts <br />
15-‐17 hours per week <br />
<strong>Min</strong>istry <strong>Description</strong>: The <strong>Fam</strong>ily <strong>Min</strong>istries <strong>Worship</strong> <strong>Co</strong>ordinator will oversee the <br />
worship ministry in UpStreet, Crossroads, and The Walk, by developing students, <br />
utilizing skilled adult volunteers, and leading worship gatherings. <br />
Mission: To support the mission and vision of <strong>Co</strong>venant <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Church</strong> by providing <br />
support in children’s, middle school, and high school student ministries. <br />
Accountability: Reports to Director of <strong>Worship</strong> and the Arts; supports Director of <br />
<strong>Fam</strong>ily <strong>Min</strong>istries, Middle School Director, and High School Director <br />
Qualifications: <br />
1. Exhibits a personal lifestyle and confession that demonstrates that Jesus is <br />
Lord of his / her life. <br />
2. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within the organizational <br />
structure of <strong>Co</strong>venant <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Church</strong>. <br />
3. Exhibits a personality that engages youth. <br />
4. Exhibits expertise in worship leadership (music, spoken word, scripture <br />
reading, prayer, and other interactive forms of worship), and ability to relate <br />
that to students. <br />
5. Exhibits expertise instrumentally, with an understanding of how multiple <br />
instruments fit together in a band setting to support worship. <br />
6. Demonstrates a heart for worship, values the role of corporate worship, and <br />
has the ability to tell his or her faith story. <br />
7. Exhibits the ability to carry the worship vision from adult gatherings and <br />
events, and translate it consistently into a student context. <br />
8. Demonstrates a basic, functional understanding of technical equipment used <br />
to support worship. <br />
9. Preferably has 3 years or more of experience leading worship in a student <br />
ministry context.
<strong>Min</strong>istry Responsibilities: <br />
1. Lead worship at Middle School (Sunday morning) and High School (Sunday <br />
evening) meetings (including necessary soundchecks). <br />
2. Develop worship teams for Middle School and High School ministries, with a <br />
focus on utilizing students. <br />
3. Recruit and train students who have a passion for music and leading worship <br />
in creative ways. <br />
4. Encourage and develop student team members spiritually as you prepare <br />
them to serve. <br />
5. Plan, prepare, and distribute the necessary music for worship. <br />
6. Arrange worship rehearsals for adequate preparation time before each <br />
meeting or event. <strong>Co</strong>mmunicate with parents, students and adult volunteers <br />
regarding rehearsals. <br />
7. Create a team environment that provides support and empowers skilled <br />
students as they grow and learn. <br />
8. Work with Middle School and High School directors to coordinate music with <br />
teachings as appropriate. <br />
9. Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to lead worship in the Children’s <br />
<strong>Min</strong>istry on Sunday mornings, working with Director of <strong>Fam</strong>ily <strong>Min</strong>istries to <br />
carry out the vision. <br />
10. Develop and support Children’s <strong>Min</strong>istry worship leaders with music <br />
resources, tools, feedback and encouragement. <br />
11. <strong>Co</strong>ordinate technical support for all meetings, including lyric presentations, <br />
and coordinating volunteers to run Sight and Sound. <br />
12. Meet with Director of <strong>Worship</strong> and Arts weekly for support, development, <br />
and feedback. <br />
13. Meet with worship planning team once a week, as available. <br />
14. Join Sunday morning CLC <strong>Worship</strong> Gatherings as available, either as a team <br />
member / leader or while leading the youth band.
