Designed to meet the demanding
requirements of the Royal Netherlands Air
Force (RNLAF) for the next 50 years, its
unrivalled multi-role capability will provide
tactical flexibility in an uncertain world.
Gripen NG offers operational dominance
and flexibility with outstanding mission
survivability. Air-to-air superiority is
guaranteed with METEOR, AMRAAM,
IRIS-T, AIM-9X, missile capability and
supercruise. Its leading edge avionics
design and next generation data processing
capabilities coupled with an AESA radar,
IRST, HMD and state-of-the-art cockpit
combine to create truly superior situational
awareness. Gripen NG’s net-centric
capabilities also include advanced data
communications, dual datalinks, satellite
communications and video links, as well as
increased range and thrust from its
General Electric F414G Turbofan engine.
The Gripen NG package includes a support
solution with optimised key functions such
as maintenance, training and clearly defined
support resources. It also provides mission
support equipment, planning and evaluation
systems, digital map generating systems, threat
library support systems, radio frequency
planning systems and maintenance support.

close-coupled canard, delta configuration
and a tripex, digital fly-by-wire flight control

sight missiles and HMD.

operational availability, rapid turnaround
and minimal support requirements enable
sustained high sortie rates, providing
commanders with the ability to meet the
