In recent years, the University of
Ghana has invested significantly
in sports infrastructure. As a
result, the University has one
of the most modern indoor
and outdoor sports facilities in
Africa. The University, which has
a strong sports tradition with
several national and international
laurels, encourages students to
participate in the wide range
of sporting activities outside
the classroom. Apart from
enhancing physical, social and
mental skills, sporting activities
boosts students’ self esteem
and confidence which is often
reflected in greater effort and
achievement in the classroom.
