ABOUT VIT UNIVERSITY
Founded in 1984 as Vellore
Engineering College, the institute was
declared as University in recognition of its
academic excellence by the Ministry of
Human Resources Development,Government
of India in 2001. VIT University for the past
25 years has made a mark in the field of
higher education in India by imparting
quality education in a cross cultural
ambience combined with extensive
application oriented research.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
The School has about 3,500 students and
153 committed members of the faculty, apart
from many visiting professors and distinguished
professionals from the industries and academia.
The prime focus is to promote the effective
integration of technology with state-of-the-art
facilities in teaching and research activities.
Research programs of the school aim to establish
a strong component of practical engagement with
private enterprises. The School offers M.S (by
research), and Ph.D programs apart from
M.Tech[IT], B.Tech[IT], MS[Software
Engineering], MCA, BCA and B.Sc[Multimedia
and Animation] programs.

ABOUT THE DIVISION
The principle Goal of the division (IPGV)
in a broad sense is to carryout the research, in the
field of image processing and graphics. More
specifically, we address the real-world problems
with large dimensionality for which
computationally efficient data analysis is a
primary concern. Major research activities are
related to biometrics, medical imaging, graphics
and vision processing etc.
OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKSHOP
The objective of the <strong>workshop</strong> is to bring
together experts from Industries, Academia,
R&D Institutions and other user communities on
a common platform to discuss and share their
expertise and ideas about advanced technologies
& recent trends in the field of Mobile Application
and very particular in Symbian OS and Carbide
C++ and provide hands on related topics.
