Do You Want to Be a Teacher? This spring, MECC will offer Introduction to Teaching as a Profession (EDU 200). The three-credit course is a good start on the road to becoming a teacher. It provides orientation to the teaching profession in Virginia, including historical perspectives, current issues, and future trends in education on the national and state levels. programs, and attention to critical shortage areas in Virginia. Preparation for Praxis MECC is offering an online course for students majoring in education who are getting ready to take the Praxis I Academic Skills Assessment test. Mathematics for Teacher Entrance Exams (MTH 50) is a two-credit course. Class begins on January 9 and will include test-taking strategies and a guided review and practice in the skills and principles that the Praxis I test will assess. HOW TO ENROLL IN CLASSES Apply for Admission to the College – New students should complete the online application for admission available at www.mecc.edu. If you are unable to admission application form. Returning students who have not been enrolled at the College anytime during the last three years, must submit an updated application for admission to the College (online applications available at www.mecc.edu). Complete Assessment if Enrolling in a Plan/Program – (reading, writing and math). If you do not have access to the How to Pay Tuition and Fees Students may pay at VCCS SIS/MECC OnLine with VISA or MasterCard. Payment in person can be made by cash, are payable to MECC for the exact amount of the tuition amount. Any balance can be paid by one of the methods above. Important Notice For students who enroll early, class space will be held until January 4. All tuition and fees must be paid by this date or you will be dropped from classes. You may re-enroll for these dropped classes if space is available through the last day to add a class. Students enrolling on January 4 or later must pay tuition on the day of enrollment.
