9. Future Plans and Intentions
The vast majority of employers surveyed would recommend MAs if asked by another employer
in their industry sector.
A total of 82 per cent of employers would recommend MAs. 54 per cent said that they would
strongly recommend MAs, and a further 28 per cent said that they would recommend MAs
with some reservations.
15 per cent of employers said they would be neutral about MAs, and a further 2 per cent
would advise against them.
Future Plans
A sizeable majority of employers stated that they plan to continue offering MAs. 83 per cent
of employers said that they would continue to offer MAs, 13 per cent plan to stop offering
MAs and 4 per cent were not sure.
Of those employers who plan to continue offering MAs, 69 per cent expect the number to
remain the same, 19 per cent expect the number to increase and 9 per cent expect the
number to decrease (Figure 9.1).
In addition a further 32 per cent of employers who plan to continue offering MAs plan to
extend their use throughout the company.
