<strong>Ramsay</strong> Stampede Party<br />
This year’s Stampede Party was July 6th and<br />
it was another amaz<strong>in</strong>g success! Almost 200<br />
people were out to enjoy the live music, free<br />
food, and neighbourly fun! Our silent auction<br />
was a very successful fundraiser br<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>in</strong> about $2,500 for r<strong>in</strong>k ma<strong>in</strong>tenance<br />
and cont<strong>in</strong>ued programm<strong>in</strong>g!<br />

Summer Season<br />
It was a very busy summer at the r<strong>in</strong>k and<br />
park area! We enjoyed rentals with ball<br />
hockey players, City of <strong>Calgary</strong> summer<br />
camps, the <strong>Calgary</strong> Stampede March<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Band practices, the scout groups, and a lot<br />
of people play<strong>in</strong>g baseball and us<strong>in</strong>g our<br />
green space and playground. All the rental<br />
<strong>in</strong>come helps offset the costs of operat<strong>in</strong>g<br />
the facility – thanks for the support!<br />
<strong>Ramsay</strong> Jr. Iron Chef 2013<br />
Is there community <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> a 2013 Jr.<br />
Iron Chef competition? This event was a<br />
big hit with the kids and <strong>in</strong>vited chefs last<br />
year! Our goal is to promote healthy eat<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

W<strong>in</strong>ter R<strong>in</strong>k Volunteers Needed!<br />
To make sure we have another <strong>in</strong>credible<br />
w<strong>in</strong>ter season, we need flood volunteers,<br />
canteen volunteers, and a rental coord<strong>in</strong>ator.<br />
Even an hour here and there throughout<br />
the season is a huge help for our<br />
volunteer team! Please send me an email if<br />

Park Perk Up<br />
You may remember that we reported<br />
the City of <strong>Calgary</strong> Parks Plann<strong>in</strong>g &<br />
Development is updat<strong>in</strong>g about 40 parks<br />
<strong>in</strong> <strong>Calgary</strong> and the <strong>Ramsay</strong> park area is<br />
one of them! We had the opportunity to<br />
meet with the City reps to discuss ideas<br />
for the revitaliz<strong>in</strong>g our green space area on<br />
the north side of the r<strong>in</strong>k where we have<br />
the tennis courts, kids playground and kidsized<br />
ball diamond. We expect to hear more<br />
of the City’s plans for the park early this<br />
fall. Their consult<strong>in</strong>g partner will provide<br />
RCA with the plans/suggestions for the<br />
RCA Board to review.<br />
<strong>Ramsay</strong> Cookbook<br />
It’s com<strong>in</strong>g! We collected about 75 delicious<br />
recipes and 7 orig<strong>in</strong>al works of art for our<br />
special community cookbook. Watch for<br />
our launch party details com<strong>in</strong>g soon this<br />
fall!<br />

<strong>Calgary</strong> Public Library offers one-on-one coach<strong>in</strong>g for anyone with an <strong>in</strong>terest<br />
<strong>in</strong> study<strong>in</strong>g their family history. It is called Family History Coach<strong>in</strong>g and it<br />
pairs genealogists of any level with experienced members of the Alberta Family<br />
Histories Society. We meet on the last Saturday of the month on the 4th floor<br />
from 10:00 to noon. Drop <strong>in</strong> and see what all the fuss is about.<br />
