Ramsay Stampede Party
This year’s Stampede Party was July 6th and
it was another amazing success! Almost 200
people were out to enjoy the live music, free
food, and neighbourly fun! Our silent auction
was a very successful fundraiser bringing
in about $2,500 for rink maintenance
and continued programming!
Thank you so much to all of the sponsors

Summer Season
It was a very busy summer at the rink and
park area! We enjoyed rentals with ball
hockey players, City of Calgary summer
camps, the Calgary Stampede Marching
Band practices, the scout groups, and a lot
of people playing baseball and using our
green space and playground. All the rental
income helps offset the costs of operating
the facility – thanks for the support!
Ramsay Jr. Iron Chef 2013
Is there community interest in a 2013 Jr.
Iron Chef competition? This event was a
big hit with the kids and invited chefs last
year! Our goal is to promote healthy eating.

Winter Rink Volunteers Needed!
To make sure we have another incredible
winter season, we need flood volunteers,
canteen volunteers, and a rental coordinator.
Even an hour here and there throughout
the season is a huge help for our
volunteer team! Please send me an email if

Park Perk Up
You may remember that we reported
the City of Calgary Parks Planning &
Development is updating about 40 parks
in Calgary and the Ramsay park area is
one of them! We had the opportunity to
meet with the City reps to discuss ideas
for the revitalizing our green space area on
the north side of the rink where we have
the tennis courts, kids playground and kidsized
ball diamond. We expect to hear more
of the City’s plans for the park early this
fall. Their consulting partner will provide
RCA with the plans/suggestions for the
RCA Board to review.
Ramsay Cookbook
It’s coming! We collected about 75 delicious
recipes and 7 original works of art for our
special community cookbook. Watch for
our launch party details coming soon this
fall!
Calgary Public Library
Welcome back to the Central Library! We are hoping the Central Library will be
open sometime in September, please see our website for the latest information

Join us to expand your horizons with free programs on a large variety of topics.
Pick up a program guide at any location or view programs online at calgarypubliclibrary.com.

Gotten started on your genealogy yet?
Calgary Public Library offers one-on-one coaching for anyone with an interest
in studying their family history. It is called Family History Coaching and it
pairs genealogists of any level with experienced members of the Alberta Family
Histories Society. We meet on the last Saturday of the month on the 4th floor
from 10:00 to noon. Drop in and see what all the fuss is about.

Develop speaking and presentation skills, self-confidence and strong leadership

The Sounds of Folk
Join CKUA’s Folk Routes producer/host Tom Coxworth, with other special guests,
in a multimedia presentation exploring the roots of folk music. Share in the
diversity of the music and meet the leaders of the Calgary’s Folk Music community
including representatives of the Canadian Folk Music Awards being held
in Calgary for the first time.
