Starting January 1, 2014 roofs in California will need to meet high
reflectance values intended to save energy. But can increased reflectance
also cause condensation? This talk will suggest ways roofing contractors
can comply with the code and avoid increased moisture accumulation in
their roofs.
Reroofs usually involve leaving drain systems the way they are but what
if the drains/overflows are too small? Some say code requires contractors
to upgrade to current requirements. This talk will review storm drainage
requirements and suggest ways contractors can address undersized
systems.

greatly affect the asphalt shingle roofing industry. WSRCA’s Technical
Advisor, Jim Carlson, will review the most essential changes that every
asphalt shingle roofing contractor, specifier, roof designer, and roofer
should be aware of, including:
· Recently revised ASTM standards regarding asphalt shingles, including
a fairly new Test Method for asphalt shingles, as well as a new ASTM
Material Standard that establishes new classifications for asphalt
shingles based on several criteria, including wind-uplift resistance, with
mile-per-hour wind speed ratings;
· New International Building Code requirements, and;
· A brief bit of unbiased information regarding what seems to be
the often-evolving warranties offered by major asphalt shingle
manufacturers.

Roofing & Waterproofing Contractors
Contractors seeking membership certify that the firm is actively engaged in
the roofing contracting business and performing roofing, waterproofing, roof
decking, siding or insulation work. The proposed Contractor member agrees
to abide by the by-laws of the association as they are now in force, or may

Cancellations, No Shows, Early Departures:

• Failure To Check-In: On the scheduled arrival date, the hotel
will charge the individual attendee one (1) night’s guaranteed
guestroom rate plus tax. Any remaining nights of a “no show”
reservation will be automatically cancelled.
• Early Departure: In the event a guest who has reserved a
guestroom checks out prior to the reserved check-out date,
