DEFINITION<br />
A skilled nursing facility, (i.e. nursing home) is a residence that provides a variety<br />
of services such as a room, meals, recreational activities, assistance with activities of<br />
daily living and protection / supervision to residents.<br />
<strong>Skilled</strong> nursing facilities are licensed by each state and are required to follow both<br />
state and federal regulations.<br />
SERVICES<br />
• Three meals a day served in a common dining area<br />
• Assistance with eating, bathing, dressing, toileting and walking<br />
• Access to health and medical services<br />
• 24-hour security and staff availability<br />
• Medication management<br />
• Social and recreational activities
