Diploma of Hotel Management<br />
Diploma of Hotel Management graduates will be suitably equipped<br />
to work in commercial enterprises under supervision, in positions<br />
that require skills gained in their Diploma. These skills include a<br />
general knowledge of all of the subject areas they have studied.<br />
The Diploma leads into 2nd year of the Bachelor of Hospitality<br />
Management at ECU, winner of the Western Australian Tourism<br />
Award, as the Number One provider of tourism education in WA.<br />
As part of the Bachelor degree <strong>Edith</strong> <strong>Cowan</strong> <strong>University</strong> provides<br />
state of the art facilities including the Degrees Brewery Restaurant,<br />
a purpose-built teaching restaurant on the Joondalup campus.<br />
Managed and operated by students as a training facility, it offers a<br />
‘real world’ simulation in which students can put into practice the<br />
theory taught in the degree program.<br />

Includes Professional Hospitality Experience II –<br />
professionally supervised work experience in the food<br />
service and lodging sectors of the hospitality industry. It<br />
emphasises the application of theoretical knowledge in<br />
the different functional areas of a hospitality enterprise.<br />
