‣ West Bengal has started implementing the amended Referral Transport Scheme (Nishchay Yan) since October 2010. However, due to nonavailability of ambulance and problem in telephone installation, operationalization of the scheme was delayed ‣ Salient features of the service in 2011-12: – The service is free for PW and sick Newborns – Second referral and drop back facility is being provided – Budgetary provision for the above has been elaborated in earlier slide. – In order to ensure maximum utilisation dedicated vehicles have been retained at all BEmOC (having >100 deliveries/year) and CEmOC centres. – Extensive IEC for information dissemination amongst beneficiaries, smooth fund flow, fully functional (24 x7) call centre have also been arranged. – Funding for the service is provided from NRHM Flexipool
