Merchants will be open for holiday shopping<br />
7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will offer specific<br />
discounts throughout the day. Some<br />
businesses may open earlier or stay open<br />
later. Look for ads in this section highlighting<br />
specials at specific businesses.<br />
Moonlight Madness<br />
Saturday, Dec. 1<br />
Stores will be open late citywide and<br />
Santa Claus will be on the Square to<br />
visit with children. Parents may bring<br />
their own cameras for photos. The choirs<br />
from the First Baptist Churches of Alvord,<br />
Decatur and Paradise will perform as one<br />
group — Voices of Christmas — along<br />
with other live music performances.<br />
Parade of Lights<br />
Dec. 1<br />
6:30 p.m. on the Square<br />
Parade line-up is 5 p.m. at the football<br />
stadium. All participants must enter at<br />
the south end of the stadium, from Collins<br />
Street. Judging is at 5:30, and the<br />
parade begins at 6:30. Call the Decatur<br />

1 to 5 p.m. — Tour area homes decorated<br />
for the holidays. Tickets cost $15 and are<br />
on sale at iCopy in Decatur, North Texas<br />
Bank, Patti’s Hair Parlor & Etc. and from<br />
all Decatur Women’s Club members. Four<br />
TAPS buses will offer transportation to each<br />
of the stops on the tour for an additional<br />
$10. Reserve your seat now at Patti’s Hair<br />
Parlor, where the bus will also pick up riders<br />
at 12:30 p.m. the day of the tour.<br />
1 to 6 p.m. — Businesses on the the Square<br />
will offer special promotions and discounts<br />
to Tour of Homes ticketholders. Participating<br />
businesses are Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Reunion<br />
on the Square, Sweetie PIe’s Ribeyes, X-<br />
