50 mg<br />

Non Medicinal Ingredients: Magnesium Citrate, L-leucine, Silicon Dioxide as required to fill capsule.<br />

ADULT DOSAGE: One capsule daily or as recommended.<br />

DESCRIPTION:<br />

Vitamin B6 is phosphorylated by intracellular enzymes to its active form Pyridoxal 5’ Phosphate. Its metabolic<br />

activities include facilitation of transamination reactions, deamination reactions, desulphuration reactions<br />

and decarboxylation reactions. Symptoms and deficiencies of Vitamin B6 manifest primarily as dermatologic,<br />

circulatory and neurologic changes. Pyridoxal 5’ Phosphate is the only form of Vitamin B6 that can be used by<br />

enzymes involved in biochemical processes, which are associated with nitrogen and protein metabolism and<br />

heme synthesis.<br />

MECHANISM:<br />

Is an essential co-factor for 5-hydroxytryptophan decaboxylase (tryptophan to serotonin pathway).<br />

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:<br />

In higher therapeutic doses this active form of Vitamin B6 has not been associated with toxicity. This is<br />

probably due to bypassing the stage in which pyridoxine is converted in the liver.<br />
