Just Around the Corner – For Girls (15:00 min)
Just Around the Corner – For Boys (15:00 min)
Both Videos present information relative to the physical, social and emotional changes that occur during
puberty. The girls’ video, narrated by a young teen girl, explores the structures of the female
reproductive system and the process of menstruation. The boys’ video, narrated by a young teen boy,
explores the structures of the male reproductive system. Both videos help children explore ways to take
care of their bodies with nutrition and exercise. Hygiene is emphasized.
Materials and Resources:
Class discussion, emphasis placed on relationships and communication with parents and/or other
trusted adults.

Puberty for Girls: Amazing Changes Inside & Out.
Both Videos present information and issues pertinent to adolescent growth and development.
Professionals, including physicians and social workers as well as teens, interact to pose questions and
provide factual information as related to changes that adolescents can expect. Topics include: *
Body/physical changes
Importance of Hygiene
Hormonal Changes in both males and females
Reproductive Systems of both males and females (basic anatomy)
Developing respectful relationships with opposite sex (tape is stopped before discussion about
sexual behavior)
Changing relationships with parents and peers
Normal feelings/emotions experienced during this time
Importance of a Healthy Lifestyle Habits; nutrition and exercise
